Naxos Island National Airport (JNX) is the airport for Naxos, the largest island in the Cyclades, just south of Naxos Town (Chora) near the beaches of Agios Prokopios and Agia Anna. Its runway is short, so only small turboprop aircraft land here, and all flights use one small terminal.
All flights are domestic, from Athens and, in season, from Heraklion and Thessaloniki, so there is no passport control. You leave the aircraft on the apron and walk to the terminal, where baggage claim is quick. Once you have your bags, head outside, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers.
Greece is on Eastern European Time (UTC+2) and switches to UTC+3 for daylight saving time from late March to late October.
Entry requirements and local notes
Schengen entry. Greece is in the Schengen area, and flights to Naxos are domestic, so you clear passport control where you first enter the Schengen area, often Athens. Non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026; the planned ETIAS travel authorization is not yet in operation. Check the visa rules for your nationality before you fly.
Small aircraft and wind. Flights use small turboprops, and strong summer winds can occasionally delay or cancel them. If your flight changes, tell us the new time so we can move your pickup.
Mountain village addresses. Many village houses have no street number, so give the house name, the village and a map pin or the owner's directions.
Euro and cash. Greece uses the euro; carry some cash for small purchases.
