Airport Transportation in Québec City

Pre-booked private transportation takes you directly from Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport to your hotel, resort or vacation rental.

After immigration, baggage claim and customs, continue outside the terminal to the meeting area named in your confirmation. Your vehicle is reserved only for the passengers on your reservation: unlike a shared shuttle, it makes no extra hotel stops for other travelers, and the price is per vehicle, not per person.

Our airport transportation in Québec City covers Old Québec and the Château Frontenac, the Old Port, Sainte-Foy and Université Laval, Lévis across the St. Lawrence, and the ski resorts of Mont-Sainte-Anne and Le Massif.

Québec City Airport Transfers

Your driver meets you in the arrivals area after baggage claim in YQB's single terminal and tracks your flight, so the pickup follows your actual arrival. The price is fixed per vehicle before you fly.

Our Québec City airport transfers run from sedans for couples and business travelers to vans for families and groups, door to door to hotels in Old Québec and the Old Port, Sainte-Foy, Lévis, and chalets and rentals near Mont-Sainte-Anne, Le Massif and Charlevoix.

Québec City Airport Shuttle

Our Québec City airport shuttle is a private van for your party only: it leaves as soon as you're through arrivals and makes no stops for other travelers. There's room for skis, winter luggage and strollers, which suits ski groups, families and wedding parties heading to the city or the slopes.

Landing at Québec City Airport

Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) serves Québec City and eastern Quebec from one terminal on two levels in Sainte-Foy, west of downtown. The domestic and international areas have been joined since a 2019 expansion.

If you arrive from outside Canada, you clear Canadian border services on Level 1, using the primary inspection kiosks or Advance Declaration in the ArriveCAN app, then a border officer. Baggage carousels and car rental counters are on the same level, close to the exit.

Signs use French first, though airport staff speak English. Québec City is on Eastern Time and changes its clocks for daylight saving.

Entry requirements and local notes

eTA or visa. Most visa-exempt visitors need an approved Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before flying to Canada.

Border declaration. You can complete Advance Declaration in the ArriveCAN app before you land to speed up Canadian border services.

French first. French is the main language in Québec City and signs use French first. Airport staff speak English, and a few words of French are appreciated in the city.

No US preclearance. YQB has no US preclearance, so on a flight home to the United States you clear US immigration and customs when you land there.

Winter weather. Québec City winters are cold and snowy; dress for the cold before you step outside.

Québec City Airport Transportation FAQs

Where will my driver meet me at Québec City Airport?

All flights arrive at YQB's single terminal. After border services and baggage claim, your driver meets you in the arrivals area, at the meeting point in your confirmation.

How far is Québec City Airport from Old Québec?

Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport is about 16 km west of downtown, in Sainte-Foy. The drive to Old Québec usually takes 20 to 30 minutes off-peak and 30 to 40 minutes at rush hour.

Can you take me to Old Québec and the Château Frontenac?

Yes. Hotels in Old Québec, around the Château Frontenac and in the Old Port are among the most common drop-offs from YQB, and your driver takes you to the door.

Can you take me to Sainte-Foy and Université Laval?

Yes. The airport itself is in Sainte-Foy, and we drive to hotels, Université Laval and homes in the area.

Can you take me from Québec City Airport to Lévis?

Yes. Lévis is across the St. Lawrence River from Québec City, and we drive you directly to hotels, homes and rentals there.

Can you take me to Mont-Sainte-Anne or Le Massif?

Yes. The ski resorts of Mont-Sainte-Anne and Le Massif are east of Québec City along the St. Lawrence, and there is no direct public transport from the airport. Tell us about skis, snowboards and boot bags when you book.

Do you drive to Charlevoix?

Yes. We take travelers from YQB to hotels, inns and rentals in the Charlevoix region, east of Québec City. Give the full address of your stay when you book.

Do you pick up from chalets, rentals and family homes?

Yes. Pickups and drop-offs work at any address in the region, including ski chalets, vacation rentals and family homes. Give the full street address and town when you book.

Can I book a pickup for a late or weekend flight into Québec City?

Yes. Your pickup is scheduled for your flight's arrival and the driver tracks it. That helps in the evening and at weekends, when RTC buses 76 and 80 run less often.

Should I take a taxi or buy transportation at Québec City Airport?

Booking ahead means your vehicle and fixed per-vehicle price are confirmed before you fly, and your driver is already waiting in arrivals. Check the company name in your confirmation before getting in.

What happens if my flight to Québec City is delayed or cancelled?

We monitor the flight on your reservation, so a delay moves your pickup with it. If your flight number, date or airline changes, or the flight is cancelled, tell customer service so we can rebook the pickup.

Can I book a ride back to Québec City Airport?

Yes, as a one-way departure or as part of a round trip. YQB has no US preclearance, so passengers flying to the United States clear US immigration and customs on arrival there.

What should I expect arriving in Québec City in winter?

Québec City winters are cold and snowy. Dress for the cold before you leave the terminal, and tell us about ski gear or extra winter bags when you book.

Is Airport Transportation the same as Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport?

No. Airport Transportation is a private transfer service that takes travelers between the airport and their hotel, home or rental; we don't run the airport. For terminals, airlines and facilities, see the Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport page.
