Riga International Airport (RIX) is the airport of Riga, the capital of Latvia, in Mārupe Municipality west of the city, and the hub of airBaltic. All passengers use one terminal building, with departures from Pier B (Schengen flights) and Pier C (Schengen and non-Schengen flights).
Where you come out depends on where you flew from. After a flight from another Schengen country, you normally skip passport control, collect your bags and walk into the Sector E arrivals hall. After a flight from outside the Schengen Area, you clear passport control first, collect your bags in the non-Schengen baggage hall and pass customs into the Sector C arrivals hall, which sits right next to Sector E on the ground floor.
Latvia is on Eastern European Time: UTC+2 in winter and UTC+3 in summer.
Schengen entry. Latvia is in the Schengen Area. Check whether your nationality needs a Schengen visa, and carry a passport or, for EU and EEA citizens, a national ID card.
Entry/Exit System. Non-EU travelers arriving from outside the Schengen Area are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System at passport control, with fingerprints and a facial photo.
EU customs rules. Passengers arriving from outside the EU pass through customs, where EU limits on tobacco, alcohol and cash apply.
Ride-hailing pickups. Bolt and other apps pick up at designated points shown in the app, and Bolt has booking screens at the exits of arrivals Sectors E and C.
Euro. Latvia uses the euro, and cards are widely accepted.

Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall after customs. Riga has two neighboring arrivals halls on the ground floor: Sector E for flights from Schengen countries and Sector C for flights from outside the Schengen Area. Give us your flight number when you book, so your driver waits in the right hall, and check the company name before you get in.
Riga International Airport is about 10 km west of central Riga. The drive to Old Riga or the city center usually takes 15 to 25 minutes, depending on traffic. Hotels in the Art Nouveau district and near the Freedom Monument are a similar distance, and your driver takes you straight to the door of your hotel or apartment.
It depends on where your flight departed. Passengers from other Schengen countries, such as Germany, Finland or Norway, come out into Sector E. Passengers from outside the Schengen Area, such as the United Kingdom, Turkey or the UAE, clear passport control and come out into Sector C. The two halls are next to each other on the ground floor.
Yes. We drive you to hotels, guesthouses and apartments in Old Riga and across the city center. Give us the hotel name and full street address when you book. Some streets in the old town are narrow or closed to traffic, so your driver may stop at the nearest point a car can reach and help you with your bags.
Yes. Jūrmala, Latvia's seaside resort, starts about a 15-minute drive west of the airport along the A10 highway, and central areas such as Majori take a little longer. Give us the hotel, spa or rental address when you book, and your driver goes straight there with no stops for other passengers.
Often, yes. Sigulda and the Gauja National Park lie northeast of Riga, a longer trip than the city center. Enter the address in the booking form: when a vehicle is available for that route, the vehicles and price show before you pay. If none shows, share the address with us before you fly and we'll confirm.
Cross-border trips to Estonia or Lithuania are long journeys, and availability depends on the route and date. Share the full address when you book and we'll confirm whether a vehicle is available. Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania are all in the Schengen Area, but carry your passport or ID card for the trip.
Yes. We drive you from the airport to the Riga Passenger Terminal, the city's ferry port on the Daugava River, or to any other address in the city. Give us your ferry departure time with your booking, so we can plan the pickup with enough time for check-in at the port.
Yes. You can book a pickup for a flight that lands late at night or a return for an early-morning departure. Enter your flight and arrival time in the booking form and it shows the vehicles available for that time. Your driver works to the flight on your reservation, so you are not left looking for a ride after midnight.
We track the arrival of the flight on your reservation, so your driver adjusts to a delay. If your flight number, date or airline changes, if you miss a connection, or if your flight is canceled, tell customer service as soon as you can so we can move your pickup to your new arrival.
Yes. Book a return from your hotel, apartment or address in Riga or Jūrmala to Riga International Airport, and give us your flight time. Your pickup is planned to leave enough time for check-in, security and, for flights outside the Schengen Area, passport control. You can book it on its own or as a round trip.
It depends on your nationality. Latvia is in the Schengen Area, so the Schengen visa rules apply, and many nationalities can visit visa-free for short stays. Non-EU travelers arriving from outside Schengen are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System with fingerprints and a photo. Check the rules for your passport before you travel.
Riga is on Eastern European Time, UTC+2 in winter and UTC+3 in summer, one hour ahead of Berlin, Paris and Stockholm. If you fly in from Central or Western Europe, set your watch forward one hour. Always give us your arrival time in Riga local time, as shown on your ticket, when you book your pickup.
