Airport Transportation in San Antonio

Pre-booked private transportation takes you directly from San Antonio International Airport to your hotel, resort or vacation rental.

After immigration, baggage claim and customs, continue outside the terminal to the meeting area named in your confirmation. Your vehicle is reserved only for the passengers on your reservation: unlike a shared shuttle, it makes no extra hotel stops for other travelers, and the price is per vehicle, not per person.

Our airport transportation in San Antonio takes you from SAT to hotels along the River Walk and around the Alamo, the Henry B. González Convention Center and the Pearl, and to neighborhoods and resorts across the city, from Alamo Heights and Stone Oak to La Cantera, Six Flags Fiesta Texas and SeaWorld San Antonio.

San Antonio Airport Transfers

San Antonio airport transfers start in baggage claim of the terminal where your flight lands, Terminal B for American and United or Terminal A for most other airlines and every international flight, where your driver waits with a name sign. We track your flight, so the pickup follows your real landing time, and the price for each vehicle is fixed and agreed before you fly, from a sedan for two to a van for a family or group.

Each San Antonio airport transfer goes door to door to your hotel, home or vacation rental downtown, on the River Walk, in Stone Oak or out at La Cantera and SeaWorld. Heading on to New Braunfels, the Hill Country or Austin? Enter your address in the booking form to see whether a transfer is offered.

San Antonio Airport Shuttle

Our San Antonio airport shuttle is a private van for your party only, not a shared ride that stops at other hotels on the way downtown. It suits families, groups heading to the River Walk or SeaWorld, and anyone landing with a lot of luggage.

Landing at San Antonio Airport

San Antonio International Airport (SAT) sits north of downtown, with two terminals side by side and linked inside the building. American and United use Terminal B; Southwest, Delta and most other airlines use Terminal A.

Flights from Mexico and other international airports arrive at Terminal A, where you go through U.S. passport control, collect your bags and clear customs before reaching the public area. Domestic arrivals and flights from Toronto, which clear U.S. preclearance in Canada, go straight to baggage claim on the lower level of their terminal, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers.

San Antonio is on U.S. Central Time (UTC-6), switching to UTC-5 for daylight saving time from March to November, and uses the U.S. dollar.

Entry requirements and local notes

Entering the United States. International visitors need a valid passport and either an approved ESTA under the Visa Waiver Program or a U.S. visa, depending on nationality, and clear U.S. Customs at Terminal A. Check the current rules for your nationality before you fly.

Terminal A or Terminal B. The two terminals have separate baggage claim areas, so give your airline and arrival terminal when you book; United flights can use either terminal.

River Walk hotels. Many downtown hotels have their entrance on the street above the River Walk, and some downtown streets close for events and parades, so give your hotel's street address; your driver stops at the nearest point a car can reach.

Military bases. Joint Base San Antonio sites such as Lackland and Fort Sam Houston need base access, so give a pickup or drop-off address outside the gate unless your access has been arranged.

San Antonio Airport Transportation FAQs

Where will my driver meet me at San Antonio Airport?

In baggage claim on the lower level of the terminal where your flight lands, holding a sign with your name. American and United use Terminal B, and most other airlines and all international flights use Terminal A, so give your arrival terminal when you book.

How far is San Antonio Airport from downtown and the River Walk?

San Antonio International Airport is about 8 miles (13 km) north of downtown, the River Walk and the Alamo, usually a 15 to 20 minute drive in normal traffic. La Cantera and Six Flags Fiesta Texas are about 15 miles northwest, and SeaWorld San Antonio about 20 miles west.

Can you take me to the River Walk and the Alamo?

Yes. We drive door to door to hotels along the River Walk, around the Alamo and near the Henry B. González Convention Center. Give your hotel's street address, as many River Walk hotels have their entrance on the street level above the river.

Can you take me to La Cantera or Six Flags Fiesta Texas?

Yes. We drive to the resorts, hotels and homes around La Cantera and Six Flags Fiesta Texas in northwest San Antonio, as well as to Stone Oak and the other northern neighborhoods.

Can you take me to SeaWorld San Antonio?

Yes. We drive to SeaWorld San Antonio and the hotels and vacation rentals around it on the west side of the city.

Can you take me to New Braunfels, the Hill Country or Austin?

Enter your address in the booking form to see whether a transfer is offered. When a vehicle is available for that route, the price shows before you pay; if it does not, contact us before you fly.

Which terminal will I arrive at in San Antonio?

American Airlines uses Terminal B, and Southwest, Delta, Alaska, Frontier, Aeroméxico, Viva Aerobus, Volaris and most other airlines use Terminal A. United flights can use either, so check your boarding pass. All international arrivals clear customs at Terminal A.

Do you drive to vacation rentals and homes in San Antonio?

Yes. Give the full street address, the unit number and any gate code. For gated communities, tell us how your driver should get in when you book.

Do you pick up from late-night or early-morning flights?

Yes. Your pickup is set to your flight's arrival time, including late at night or early in the morning, and we track the flight so your driver is there when you land.

Should I take a ride from people offering transportation in the terminal?

There is no need. Booking ahead gives you a confirmed vehicle and a meeting point before you land. If someone approaches you in baggage claim, check the company name against your confirmation before getting in.

What happens if my flight is delayed or canceled?

We monitor the flight on your reservation, so your driver waits for the actual landing. If your flight number, date or airline changes, or your flight is canceled, tell customer service so the pickup can be moved.

Can I book a ride back to San Antonio Airport?

Yes. Book a one-way departure or a round trip from your hotel, home or vacation rental. Give your flight number, departure time and terminal so the pickup leaves time for check-in and security.
