London Southend Airport (SEN) is in Essex, between Southend-on-Sea and Rochford, and all flights use its one two-story terminal. It is a small airport, and the airport says most passengers get from the plane to their onward transport in 10 to 15 minutes.
International passengers go through UK Border Force passport control first, then baggage claim, then customs; domestic flights use their own baggage claim. There are no toilets in arrivals before passport control. You then exit into the arrivals hall, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers, with Southend Airport rail station and the taxi stand just outside.
The UK is on Greenwich Mean Time (UTC+0) and switches to British Summer Time (UTC+1) from late March to late October. It uses the pound sterling.
UK ETA. The UK is not in the Schengen area or the EU, so EU and US citizens and most other visitors who do not need a visa must have an approved Electronic Travel Authorisation before they fly, children included.
