Airport Transportation in Tampa

Pre-booked private transportation takes you directly from Tampa International Airport to your hotel, resort or vacation rental.

After immigration, baggage claim and customs, continue outside the terminal to the meeting area named in your confirmation. Your vehicle is reserved only for the passengers on your reservation: unlike a shared shuttle, it makes no extra hotel stops for other travelers, and the price is per vehicle, not per person.

Our airport transportation in Tampa takes you from TPA to hotels in downtown Tampa, Westshore and Ybor City, to the cruise terminals at Port Tampa Bay, to Busch Gardens, and across the bay to Clearwater Beach, St. Petersburg and St. Pete Beach.

Tampa Airport Transfers

Tampa airport transfers start in Baggage Claim on Level 1 of the Main Terminal, on the red or blue side your airline uses, where your driver waits after you ride the shuttle from your Airside. We track your flight, so the pickup follows your real landing time, and the price for the whole vehicle is agreed before you fly, from a sedan for two to a van for a family or group with luggage.

Each Tampa airport transfer goes door to door to your hotel, condo or vacation rental in Tampa, to your ship at Port Tampa Bay, or to the Gulf beaches at Clearwater, St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island and Indian Rocks Beach. Going on to Sarasota, Anna Maria Island or Orlando? Enter the address in the booking form: when a vehicle is available for that route, the price shows before you pay; if it does not, contact us before you fly.

Tampa Airport Shuttle

Our Tampa airport shuttle is a private van for your party only, not a shared ride that stops at other hotels and condos along the beaches. It leaves as soon as you have your bags, with room for suitcases, strollers, golf bags and cruise luggage, and suits families, groups and cruise passengers.

Landing at Tampa Airport

Tampa International Airport (TPA) is west of downtown Tampa, and every flight uses one Main Terminal linked by automated shuttles to four Airsides with the gates: A, C, E and F. After you land, you ride the shuttle from your Airside to Level 3 of the Main Terminal and go down to Baggage Claim on Level 1, which is split into a red side and a blue side by airline.

International flights arrive mainly at Airside F, where you clear US Customs and Border Protection and collect your bags before taking them on the shuttle to the Main Terminal; the airport says this can take an hour or more after landing. Automated Passport Control kiosks and Mobile Passport Control can shorten the line for eligible travelers.

Tampa is on Eastern Time (UTC-5), and UTC-4 during daylight saving time from March to November. The United States uses the US dollar.

Entry requirements and local notes

Entry to the US. International travelers need a valid passport and either a visa or an approved ESTA under the Visa Waiver Program; Canadian citizens usually need only a passport. Have the address where you are staying ready for the immigration officer.

US customs. Declare food, plants and animal products, and cash or monetary instruments worth more than 10,000 US dollars.

Red side or blue side. Baggage Claim is split by airline into a red side and a blue side, so give your airline and flight number when you book; your driver waits on your side.

Beach condos and cruise days. Many beach condos and vacation-home communities have gates or guest parking rules, so give the full address, unit number and any gate code. On cruise days, give your ship and terminal at Port Tampa Bay.

Tampa Airport Transportation FAQs

Where will my driver meet me at Tampa Airport?

In Baggage Claim on Level 1 of the Main Terminal, on the red or blue side your airline uses, after you ride the shuttle from your Airside. The meeting point and the driver's contact details are in your confirmation.

How far is Tampa Airport from downtown Tampa and the beaches?

Downtown Tampa is about 6 miles (10 km) east of the airport, around 15 minutes outside rush hour. Clearwater Beach is about 20 to 25 miles away, roughly 35 minutes, and St. Pete Beach about 29 miles, around 36 minutes with normal traffic.

Can you take me to Clearwater Beach?

Yes. We drive door to door to hotels, condos and vacation rentals in Clearwater and on Clearwater Beach, and along the Gulf beaches to Indian Rocks Beach.

Can you take me to St. Petersburg or St. Pete Beach?

Yes. We drive to hotels and apartments in downtown St. Petersburg and to resorts and condos on St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island.

Can you take me to the cruise port in Tampa?

Yes. We drive you to the cruise terminals at Port Tampa Bay, next to downtown Tampa. Give your ship and terminal number when you book, and your boarding time so the pickup leaves a comfortable margin.

Can you take me to Busch Gardens, Ybor City or Westshore?

Yes. We drive to hotels near Busch Gardens, in Ybor City, downtown Tampa and the Westshore business district, and to any other address in Tampa.

Can you take me to Sarasota, Anna Maria Island or Orlando?

Sarasota and Anna Maria Island are south of Tampa Bay, and Orlando is inland to the east. Enter the address in the booking form: when a vehicle is available for that route, the price shows before you pay; if it does not, contact us before you fly.

Which Airside will I arrive at in Tampa?

It depends on your airline: Southwest uses Airside C, Delta and Frontier Airside E, JetBlue and United Airside A, and American and most international airlines Airside F. Every Airside connects by shuttle to the same Main Terminal, where your driver meets you.

Do you drive to vacation rentals and beach condos?

Yes. Give the full street address, the unit number and any gate code. Many beach condos and vacation-home communities have gates or guest parking rules, and your driver stops at the entrance a car can use.

Can I book a pickup for a late-night or early-morning flight?

Yes. Book ahead with your exact flight number and time, so the vehicle is confirmed for your arrival or departure whatever the hour.

Should I buy transportation from people offering rides inside Tampa Airport?

There is no need. Booking ahead gives you a confirmed vehicle and a meeting point before you land. If someone approaches you in Baggage Claim, check the company name against your confirmation before getting in.

What happens if my flight is delayed or canceled?

We monitor the flight on your reservation, so your driver waits for the actual landing. If your flight number, date or airline changes, or your flight is canceled, tell customer service so the pickup can be moved.

Can I book a ride back to Tampa Airport?

Yes. Book a one-way departure or a round trip from your hotel, condo or cruise ship, and give your airline and departure time, so the pickup is set for check-in and security at your Airside.

How long does it take international passengers to reach my driver?

International passengers clear customs and collect their bags at the Airside, then take the shuttle to the Main Terminal, which the airport says can take an hour or more after landing. Your driver follows your flight, so there is no need to rush.
