Airport Transportation in Tucson

Pre-booked private transportation takes you directly from Tucson International Airport to your hotel, resort or vacation rental.

After immigration, baggage claim and customs, continue outside the terminal to the meeting area named in your confirmation. Your vehicle is reserved only for the passengers on your reservation: unlike a shared shuttle, it makes no extra hotel stops for other travelers, and the price is per vehicle, not per person.

Our Tucson airport transportation takes you to hotels and homes in downtown Tucson and around the University of Arizona, to the resorts of the Catalina Foothills, and north to Oro Valley and Marana.

Tucson Airport Transfers

Tucson airport transfers start in baggage claim, on the lower level of the main terminal, or at the commercial roadways outside, as your confirmation says. We track your flight, so the pickup follows your real landing time, and the price is fixed per vehicle before you fly, from a sedan for two to a van for a family or group with golf bags.

Each Tucson airport transfer goes door to door to your hotel, resort, home or vacation rental in Tucson, the Catalina Foothills, Oro Valley or Marana. Going on to Phoenix, Tombstone or Sedona? Enter the address in the booking form: when a vehicle is available for that route, the price shows before you pay; if it does not, contact us before you fly.

Tucson Airport Shuttle

Our Tucson airport shuttle is a private van for your party only, not a shared ride that stops at other hotels and resorts on the way. It leaves as soon as you have your bags and suits families, golf groups and anyone staying at a foothills resort.

Landing at Tucson Airport

Tucson International Airport (TUS) is on the south side of Tucson and has one terminal with two concourses: Concourse A for Southwest, Sun Country and United, and Concourse B for Alaska, American and Delta. Whichever concourse you land at, follow the signs down to Baggage Claim on the lower level of the main terminal.

Scheduled flights here are domestic, so there is no passport control or customs on arrival; travelers from abroad clear US immigration at their first US airport. Outside baggage claim, app rides, taxis and pre-arranged cars each pick up on their own island across the roadways.

Arizona stays on Mountain Standard Time (UTC-7) all year and does not use daylight saving time.

Entry requirements and local notes

US entry. International visitors need a US visa or an approved ESTA before they fly, and they clear immigration and customs at their first US airport, not in Tucson. Check the rules for your nationality before you travel.

REAL ID for the flight home. Adults on domestic flights need a REAL ID-compliant ID or a passport at security; a standard Arizona driver's license is no longer accepted.

No daylight saving time. Arizona keeps Mountain Standard Time all year, so in summer Tucson is on the same clock as Los Angeles. Check the local time on your tickets and pickup.

Pickup islands. App rides, taxis and pre-arranged cars each use a different island across the roadways outside baggage claim, so go to the meeting point in your confirmation.

Tucson Airport Transportation FAQs

Where will my driver meet me at Tucson Airport?

In Baggage Claim on the lower level of the main terminal, or on the third island of the commercial roadways outside, as your confirmation says.

How far is Tucson Airport from downtown Tucson and the main areas?

The airport is about 8 miles (13 km) south of downtown Tucson, roughly 15 to 20 minutes by car outside rush hour. The University of Arizona is about 20 minutes away, the Catalina Foothills about 25 to 35 minutes, and Oro Valley and Marana about 35 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic and the exact address.

Can you take me to the University of Arizona?

Yes. We drive to hotels, homes and campus addresses around the University of Arizona, including for move-in days, graduations and games.

Can you take me to resorts in the Catalina Foothills or Oro Valley?

Yes. We drive door to door to resorts, hotels and homes in the Catalina Foothills, Tanque Verde and Oro Valley.

Can you take me to Marana or Dove Mountain?

Yes. We drive to Marana, including Dove Mountain and its resorts and golf communities.

Can you take me to Phoenix?

Phoenix is a long drive north of Tucson. Enter the address in the booking form: when a vehicle is available for that route, the price shows before you pay; if it does not, contact us before you fly. Flying into Phoenix instead? See our Phoenix Airport Transportation page.

Can you take me to Tombstone or Sedona?

Enter the address in the booking form: when a vehicle is available for that route, the price shows before you pay; if it does not, contact us before you fly.

How many terminals does Tucson Airport have?

One terminal with two concourses: A for Southwest, Sun Country and United, and B for Alaska, American and Delta. All arriving passengers collect their bags in the same baggage claim.

Do you drive to vacation rentals and homes in Tucson?

Yes. Give the full street address and any gate code or community entrance details, as many homes in the foothills and Marana are in gated communities.

Can I book a pickup for a late-night or early-morning flight?

Yes. Enter your flight and pickup time in the booking form; when a vehicle is available for that time, the price shows before you pay. For early departures, the security checkpoints generally open by 4 a.m.

Should I buy transportation from people offering rides inside Tucson Airport?

There is no need. Booking ahead gives you a confirmed vehicle and a meeting point before you land. If someone approaches you in baggage claim, check the company name against your confirmation before getting in.

What happens if my flight is delayed or canceled?

We monitor the flight on your reservation, so your driver waits for the actual landing. If your flight number, date or airline changes, or your flight is canceled, tell customer service so the pickup can be moved.

Can I book a ride back to Tucson Airport?

Yes. Book a one-way departure or a round trip from your hotel, resort or home, and give your airline, so we set the pickup for the right concourse; A and B are not connected after security.

Does Arizona change its clocks?

No. Arizona stays on Mountain Standard Time all year, so in summer Tucson is an hour behind Denver and on the same time as Los Angeles. Check that your pickup time is in local Arizona time.

Is Airport Transportation the same as Tucson International Airport?

No. Airport Transportation is a private transfer service that books rides from TUS; we are not the airport or its operator. For concourses, airlines and other ways to get around, see our Tucson airport page.
