Tunis–Carthage International Airport (TUN) is the airport of Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, northeast of downtown and close to the Lake of Tunis, and the hub of Tunisair. It has two terminals: Terminal 1 handles scheduled flights, and Terminal 2 is used mainly for charter flights, with a shuttle bus between them.
After you leave the aircraft, follow the signs to passport control. Collect your bags in the baggage claim hall, then pass through customs into the arrivals hall on the ground floor, where you find ATMs and currency exchange counters.
Tunisia is on Central European Time (UTC+1) all year, with no daylight saving time.
Entry requirements and local notes
Visa. Citizens of many countries can enter Tunisia without a visa for a short stay, while others must get a visa from a Tunisian embassy or consulate before travel. Tunisia has no e-visa system, so check the rules for your nationality before you fly.
Tunisian dinar. The dinar (TND) is a closed currency that cannot be bought or exchanged outside Tunisia. Get local cash at the ATMs or exchange counters in the arrivals area; some ATMs do not accept every international card.
Customs. Taking Tunisian dinars into or out of the country is not allowed, so spend or change them before you leave.
