Adelaide Airport (ADL) sits between the city and the coast, and all domestic, regional and international flights use one combined terminal. Domestic passengers arrive on Level 2 and take the escalators down; international passengers arrive on Level 1; everyone collects bags on the ground floor.
International arrivals pass immigration, collect their bags and then clear customs and biosecurity, where food, plant and animal items are inspected, before walking into the arrivals area. Car rental desks and the Welcome Desk are beside baggage claim.
South Australia uses Australian Central Standard Time, UTC+9:30, and moves to UTC+10:30 for daylight saving from early October to early April. The currency is the Australian dollar.
Entry requirements and local notes
Visa or ETA before you fly. Every visitor except New Zealand citizens needs a visa or travel authority before flying, such as an ETA through the AustralianETA app or an eVisitor for many European passports.
Biosecurity declaration. Declare all food, plant material and animal products on the Incoming Passenger Card; a digital Australian Travel Declaration is being introduced on selected flights. Undeclared items can bring penalties.
Night curfew. A curfew from 11 pm to 6 am restricts most jet flights at Adelaide Airport, so very late arrivals are uncommon; give your exact flight number so the pickup matches your landing.
Half-hour time zone. Adelaide is half an hour behind Sydney and Melbourne, so enter your flight's local arrival time when you book.
