Also known as: Kayseri Airport, Erkilet Airport, ASR Airport, Kayseri Erkilet Airport, Cappadocia Kayseri Airport.

Kayseri Erkilet International Airport (ASR) serves Kayseri, a city in Central Anatolia, Turkey. It handled about 2.8 million passengers in 2025, most of them on domestic flights.
Turkish Airlines flies to Istanbul Airport, while AJet and Pegasus Airlines connect Kayseri with Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen. Pegasus and SunExpress also link the city with Antalya and Izmir, and with cities in Germany, the Netherlands and other parts of Europe. Corendon Airlines and Eurowings add seasonal flights from Germany and the Netherlands.
Passengers use one terminal building with separate domestic and international halls. The airport shares its single runway with a Turkish Air Force base and sits about 5 km north of Kayseri city center.
For many visitors Kayseri is the way into Cappadocia. Göreme is about 75 km away, roughly 75 minutes by road, with Ürgüp, Uçhisar and Avanos at similar distances. Nevşehir Kapadokya Airport (NAV) lies closer to the valleys, about 43 km from Göreme, but has fewer flights. Other travelers stay in Kayseri itself or head to the Erciyes ski area on the mountain south of the city.

On an international flight you go through passport control and customs in the international hall; many nationalities can enter Turkey visa-free for short stays, while others need an e-Visa from evisa.gov.tr before departure. Domestic arrivals, including connections through Istanbul, skip these checks in Kayseri.
Baggage claim is a short walk from the gate, as the terminal is compact.
Outside, taxis wait at the terminal, and municipal buses run into Kayseri; the buses do not take cash, so you need a Kayseri Kart. If you are going to Cappadocia, confirm your transport before you land: hotel shuttles are timed to flights and need a reservation, and pre-booked drivers wait with a name sign at the arrivals exit. A Göreme-bound taxi is a long ride, so agree on the route before setting off.
Kayseri and Cappadocia have cold, often snowy winters and hot, dry summers. Turkey uses Turkey Time (UTC+3) all year with no daylight saving, and the currency is the Turkish lira (TRY).
Most travelers heading to Cappadocia use a pre-booked shuttle or private transfer, while a taxi or city bus suits trips into Kayseri.
Taxis wait outside the terminal around the clock. The ride to Kayseri center, about 6 km, takes roughly 10 minutes; going to Cappadocia by taxi is possible but it is a long trip.
Municipal lines 100, 101 and 271 serve the airport and reach the center in about 15 to 20 minutes. You need a Kayseri Kart, as drivers do not accept cash.
Shared shuttles timed to arriving flights drop passengers at hotels in Göreme, Ürgüp and nearby towns. Seats need to be reserved in advance, and with several hotel stops the trip can take 90 to 120 minutes.
A pre-booked car or van goes straight to your hotel, about 75 minutes to Göreme and 65 minutes to Ürgüp. It is the simplest choice for families and late arrivals, but it has to be arranged before you fly.
Several rental companies have desks in the terminal. Driving lets you explore the valleys at your own pace, but in winter you should be ready for snow on the roads.

Kayseri Erkilet International Airport is about 5 to 6 km north of Kayseri city center. By taxi the trip usually takes around 10 minutes, and municipal buses take about 15 to 20 minutes. Göreme is about 75 km from Kayseri Erkilet International Airport, a drive of roughly 75 minutes. Ürgüp is about 65 km away and Uçhisar about 70 km. Shared hotel shuttles take longer, often 90 to 120 minutes, because they stop at several hotels along the way.
Both airports serve Cappadocia. Nevşehir Kapadokya Airport (NAV) is closer, about 43 km from Göreme, but it has fewer flights. Kayseri Erkilet (ASR) is about 75 km from Göreme and has more airlines, year-round service and more international routes, so many travelers find it easier to fit into their schedule.
Kayseri Erkilet International Airport has one terminal building with separate halls for domestic and international flights. The expanded terminal can handle about 6 million passengers a year. Because everything is under one roof and the airport is small, getting from the gate to the exit or the taxi rank is quick.

Yes. Municipal bus lines 100, 101 and 271 run between the airport and Kayseri, taking about 15 to 20 minutes to the center. Cash is not accepted on board, so you need a Kayseri Kart. The Havaş airport bus service has been suspended at times, so check before relying on it.
Most visitors use a shared shuttle timed to their flight or a private transfer straight to their hotel in Göreme, Ürgüp, Uçhisar or Avanos. Shuttle seats must be reserved in advance. Another option is to travel into Kayseri and take a coach or minibus to Nevşehir or the Cappadocia towns, which takes longer.
Uber in Turkey works mainly as a way to book licensed taxis, and its coverage is focused on large cities such as Istanbul, Izmir and Ankara. In Kayseri you should not count on it. The taxi rank outside the terminal, a city bus or a pre-arranged shuttle are the reliable ways to leave the airport.
It depends on your passport. Citizens of the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and many European countries can visit Turkey visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Others, including Mexican citizens, can apply online for an e-Visa at evisa.gov.tr. Your passport should be valid for at least six months from arrival.
