Pegasus Airlines is a Turkish low-cost airline headquartered in the Kurtköy area of Pendik, Istanbul. It began flying in 1990 as a charter airline and switched to a low-cost model in 2005, when Esas Holding bought it. The company is listed on Borsa Istanbul, with Esas Holding as its majority shareholder. Pegasus is not a member of an airline alliance.
Its main base is Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) on the Asian side of Istanbul, with further bases in Ankara, Izmir, Antalya and other Turkish cities. It serves about 160 destinations in 56 countries: 39 domestic and 121 international destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, the Caucasus and Central Asia. In October 2026 it completed the purchase of Czech Airlines and Smartwings, which keep flying under their own brand.
The Pegasus fleet of about 131 aircraft is made up mainly of Airbus A320neo and A321neo jets, with some Airbus A320ceo and Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
