About Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) serves Atlanta, Georgia, and is the world's busiest airport, with about 106 million passengers in 2025. It sits about 10 miles (16 km) south of downtown Atlanta, mostly in Clayton County.

The airport is Delta Air Lines' main hub and home to its headquarters, with flights to nearly every major US city and to Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia. Southwest and Frontier also have bases here, and most foreign airlines use the international side.

ATL has two terminals at opposite ends of the airfield: the Domestic Terminal on the west side, with North and South entrances, and the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal on the east side. Between them are seven concourses, T, A, B, C, D, E and F, linked by the Plane Train and an underground walkway.

The MARTA Airport station, inside the Domestic Terminal, connects with downtown Atlanta and Midtown, and the ATL SkyTrain runs to the Rental Car Center and the Georgia International Convention Center.

Arrival tips for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

Your plane arrives at one of seven concourses: T, A, B, C, D, E or F. To reach baggage claim, take the Plane Train or the underground walkway to the terminal.

If you arrive on an international flight and Atlanta is your final destination, you clear US Customs and Border Protection in Concourse F; passengers arriving at Concourse E walk to Concourse F through a dedicated underground walkway. After customs, you exit at the International Terminal on the east side of the airport. If you are eligible, Global Entry or Mobile Passport Control can shorten the line.

Domestic passengers ride the Plane Train to the Domestic Terminal on the west side and collect their bags in the North or South baggage claim, depending on the airline.

The two terminals are far apart by road, so check which one your driver is meeting you at. The MARTA station is inside the Domestic Terminal.
