Ingeniero Alberto Acuña Ongay International Airport, known as Campeche International Airport (CPE), serves the city of Campeche, capital of the state of Campeche on Mexico's Gulf coast. It sits about 8 km from the city center and is run by Grupo Olmeca-Maya-Mexica, the military-owned airport group, since 2023.
Scheduled flights all go to Mexico City: Aeroméxico flies to Mexico City's Benito Juárez airport and Mexicana to Felipe Ángeles. Travelers from elsewhere usually connect in Mexico City, or fly into Mérida and continue by road.
The airport has one small, single-story terminal with check-in, security, baggage claim and an arrivals hall with car rental and taxi stands. The departure concourse has two gates that open directly onto the apron. The airport officially operates from 7:00 to 19:00.
From the airport, travelers head into Campeche's walled historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and on to the Maya site of Edzná.

Campeche has one small, single-story terminal, and you walk across the apron from the aircraft to the building.
Scheduled flights here come from Mexico City, so you go straight to baggage claim without passing immigration. Collect your bags and walk into the arrivals hall.
The arrivals hall has the car rental counters and the taxi stands. The airport is about 8 km from the historic center, so the ride into town is short. If you booked a transfer, your driver waits for you in the arrivals hall or just outside the terminal doors.
The airport officially operates from 7:00 to 19:00, so all flights arrive during the day.
A pre-booked driver meets you in the arrivals hall and takes you to your hotel in Campeche's historic center. It suits families and anyone with luggage.
Taxis wait at the stands by the arrivals hall. Confirm the destination before you set off.
Rental counters are by the arrivals hall. Useful for visiting Edzná and the rest of the state.

Two airlines serve Campeche, both to Mexico City. Aeroméxico flies to Mexico City's Benito Juárez airport and Mexicana flies to Felipe Ángeles. Travelers from other cities usually connect in Mexico City or fly into Mérida and continue by road.
Campeche International Airport officially operates from 7:00 to 19:00 local time, Central Standard Time. Flights are scheduled within those hours, so there are no night arrivals or departures. Plan your ride from the airport around your flight's arrival time.
No. Despite its name, Campeche currently has no scheduled international flights; both airline routes go to Mexico City. International travelers usually connect in Mexico City, or fly into Mérida, which has more routes, and continue to Campeche by road.
Campeche airport uses Central Standard Time (UTC−6) all year, the same as Mexico City. Mexico no longer observes daylight saving time in this region, so flight times on your ticket are in Central Standard Time throughout the year.
