Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) serves Phoenix and the Valley of the Sun in Arizona. It sits about 3 miles (5 km) east of downtown Phoenix, close to Tempe and Scottsdale, and handled about 51.6 million passengers in 2025.
PHX is American Airlines' largest hub, and Southwest and Frontier have bases here. International routes include London Heathrow, Paris, Taipei and many cities in Mexico and Canada.
There are two terminals in use, Terminal 3 (the John McCain III Terminal) and Terminal 4, after Terminal 2 closed in 2020. The PHX Sky Train links them with the Valley Metro light rail at 44th Street, East Economy Parking and the Rental Car Center.
From the airport, travelers head downtown, to Scottsdale, Tempe and Arizona State University, Mesa and the resorts of the Valley, or north to Sedona and the Grand Canyon.

If you are eligible, Global Entry or Mobile Passport Control can shorten the line. Precleared flights from Canada arrive at Terminal 3 like domestic flights.
Domestic passengers go straight to baggage claim in their terminal.
