Passenger Terminal
The single terminal handles all international and domestic flights, with arrivals on the lower level, departures above and domestic departures in the east wing.
Also known as: Siem Reap Airport, SAI Airport, Siem Reap Angkor Airport, Angkor International Airport, New Siem Reap Airport.
SAI · VDSA · Siem Reap
Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport (SAI) is the airport for Siem Reap, Cambodia, and the gateway to the temples of Angkor. It opened on 16 October 2023 and replaced the old Siem Reap International Airport, which used the code REP and stood just outside town; that airport is now closed, so every flight to Siem Reap lands here.
The airport stands in Soutr Nikom District, about 50 km (31 miles) east of Siem Reap town and about 40 km from Angkor Wat. The drive into town usually takes about an hour.
Most flights link Siem Reap with Southeast Asia. Air Cambodia and Cambodia Airways fly to Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville, Bangkok Airways and Thai AirAsia connect with Bangkok, Vietnam Airlines and VietJet Air with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore Airlines with Singapore and AirAsia Cambodia with Kuala Lumpur.
All flights use one passenger terminal with jet bridges, with arrivals on the lower level and departures above. From the airport, most travelers head to hotels around Pub Street and the Old Market, along Charles de Gaulle Boulevard toward Angkor Wat, or by the Siem Reap River.

Cambodia asks air travelers to complete the e-Arrival card online at arrival.gov.kh within the seven days before landing; it covers immigration, customs and health in one form. If you already have an e-Visa, have it ready with your passport. If not, go first to the Visa on Arrival counter, opposite the immigration lines, and pay in US dollars cash.
After immigration you collect your bags on the lower level and pass customs into the arrivals hall. Siem Reap–Angkor has one terminal, so there is no terminal to choose. Before you leave the building, you will find an ATM, a currency exchange desk and SIM card counters for Cellcard, Metfone and Smart.
The airport is far from town, so plan your ride before you walk out. The transportation desk and the shuttle bus ticket counter are on the ground floor, to the left as you exit. Pre-booked drivers usually wait in the arrivals hall with a name sign.
Cambodia is on Indochina Time (UTC+7) all year.
The airport is about an hour from town, so most travelers take the shuttle bus or a car.
The official airport shuttle runs to a stop on 7 Makara Street in Siem Reap, about an hour away. Buy tickets at the counter on the ground floor; it runs on a set timetable, so you may wait for the next departure.
Fixed-rate taxis and minivans are booked at the transportation desk on the ground floor and go straight to your hotel, in about an hour.
Grab and PassApp operate in Siem Reap and can be used for rides from the airport. Check the pickup point in the app.
Tuk-tuks wait near the parking lot outside arrivals. The ride is slow over the distance to town and leaves you and your bags exposed to heat and dust.
A pre-booked car or van meets you in the arrivals hall, which suits families, groups and late arrivals heading to hotels across Siem Reap.

Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport is about 50 km (31 miles) east of Siem Reap town and about 40 km from Angkor Wat. The drive usually takes about an hour by car or shuttle bus, and longer by tuk-tuk. The old airport near town is closed, so allow more time than older guides suggest.
Siem Reap's airport code is now SAI. The old Siem Reap International Airport, code REP, closed on 15 October 2023, and Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport opened the next day with the code SAI. All flights to Siem Reap land at the new airport, so search and book flights using SAI.
No. The old Siem Reap International Airport, just outside town on National Road 6, closed to commercial flights in October 2023. Its traffic moved to Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport in Soutr Nikom District. If a hotel or guidebook says the airport is a few minutes away, it is describing the old one.
Most visitors need a visa for Cambodia. You can apply for an e-Visa online at evisa.gov.kh before you travel, or get a visa on arrival at the counter opposite the immigration lines, paid in US dollars cash. Some ASEAN nationalities are exempt for short stays, so check the rule for your passport.
The e-Arrival card is Cambodia's online arrival form, combining immigration, customs and health declarations. Air travelers complete it at arrival.gov.kh within the seven days before arrival and keep the confirmation on their phone. It does not replace a visa, which you still need unless your nationality is exempt.
The official shuttle bus runs from the airport to a stop on 7 Makara Street in Siem Reap, with tickets sold at the counter on the ground floor. Fixed-rate taxis and minivans are booked at the transportation desk, and Grab and PassApp also operate. Pre-booked drivers meet passengers in the arrivals hall.

Yes. A Bred Bank ATM in the terminal dispenses US dollars, and a Cambodia Asia Bank exchange desk is in arrivals. Cellcard, Metfone and Smart sell SIM cards at counters as you leave arrivals. Bring some clean US dollar notes too, since torn bills are often refused in Cambodia.
Cambodia uses the riel, but US dollars are accepted almost everywhere in Siem Reap, and prices for hotels, tours and transport are usually quoted in dollars. Small change often comes back in riel. Carry clean, untorn dollar notes in small denominations, because damaged bills are commonly refused.
Siem Reap is on Indochina Time, UTC+7, the same as Bangkok, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Cambodia does not use daylight saving time, so the clock stays the same all year. Flight times on your ticket for Siem Reap are shown in local time.
