Brasília–President Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport (BSB) is the airport for Brazil's capital. It sits inside the Federal District, just south of the Plano Piloto, the planned core of Brasília.
There is one passenger terminal for domestic and international flights, with a central building, a north pier and a south pier. Gates at the ends of the piers can be a long walk from baggage claim. Baggage claim and the arrivals hall are on the lower level.
On an international arrival you pass Federal Police immigration, then collect your bags and clear customs before reaching the arrivals hall. Brasília uses Brasília time (UTC-3) all year, with no daylight saving time.
Brazilian e-visa. Citizens of the United States, Canada and Australia have needed a Brazilian e-visa since April 10, 2025, applied for online before travel through the official VFS Global portal. Many other nationalities can enter visa-free for tourism; check the rules for your passport before you fly.
Addresses in the Plano Piloto. Brasília addresses are written by sector, block and building rather than by street name. Copy the full address from your hotel or host exactly as written when you book.
Dry and rainy seasons. From about May to September the air is very dry; from about October to April afternoon storms are frequent. Keep water handy in the dry months and allow for storms when you plan a departure.
Ignore ride offers in the terminal. People approaching you away from the arrivals hall are not your driver. Look for your name sign and check the company name before you get in.

BSB is about 13 km (8 mi) from downtown Brasília, just south of the Plano Piloto. In normal traffic the drive to the center takes around 15 minutes, though the trip back to the airport can be slower at the end of the working day.
