Corfu Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport (CFU) is the airport for the island of Corfu, in the Ionian Sea, just south of Corfu Town. All flights use a single passenger terminal, first opened in 1972 and since expanded with more check-in desks and gates.
Flights from Athens and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. If you come from outside the Schengen area, as many visitors do from the UK, you queue at passport control. On summer weekends, when many charter flights land close together, the small terminal can be very crowded. Pre-booked drivers meet passengers in the arrivals area.
Greece is on Eastern European Time (EET), two hours ahead of the UK, and uses the euro.
