Curaçao International Airport (CUR), also known as Hato Airport, is on the island's north coast and is run by Curaçao Airport Partners. Every flight uses one terminal, opened in late 2018, so all passengers arrive through the same hall.
Curaçao is outside the Schengen area, so everyone goes through passport control on arrival, including passengers from Amsterdam. Then you collect your bags at baggage claim and pass customs through the green or red channel into the Arrivals Hall, which has car rental counters and an ATM.
Curaçao is on Atlantic Standard Time (UTC-4) all year, with no daylight saving time.
DI card. Every non-resident traveler must complete the free Digital Immigration Card online at dicardcuracao.com before arriving; it opens 7 days before departure. Avoid third-party sites that charge for it.
Not Schengen. Curaçao is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands but outside the Schengen area and the EU Entry/Exit System, so check the visa and passport rules for your nationality before you fly.
Guilders and dollars. The local currency is the Caribbean guilder (XCG), and US dollars and cards are widely accepted. The ATM in the Arrivals Hall dispenses dollars, euros and guilders.
Gated resorts and villas. Many resort and villa communities, such as Blue Bay, have gated entrances, so give the full address and villa or apartment number when you book.

The airport is at Hato, about 12 km (7.5 miles) from Willemstad's Punda and Otrobanda, usually around a 20-minute drive. Jan Thiel is on the far side of the city, and Westpunt is about 36 km (22 miles) away, roughly 40 minutes.
