General Guadalupe Victoria International Airport (DGO), known as Durango International Airport, sits about 17 km northeast of the city center. All flights use one passenger terminal, and passengers walk between the aircraft and the building.
On flights from the United States, you clear immigration, collect your bags and pass customs before walking out of the arrivals area. There is no public transport listed from the airport into the city.
Durango, Mexico, runs on Central Standard Time (UTC−6) all year. It is a different airport from Durango–La Plata County (DRO) in Colorado.
Entry requirements and local notes
Right Durango. Check that your ticket says DGO, Durango, Mexico, not DRO in Colorado.
Give the full address. Many homes sit in residential colonias away from the center; add the colonia and a landmark so the driver finds the door.
Mountain trips. Destinations in the Sierra Madre are long drives on winding roads; enter the exact property so the right vehicle and price are shown.
Entry. International visitors need a valid passport. Carry some pesos for tips and small purchases.
