Guadalajara International Airport (Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, GDL) lies in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, 17 km southeast of downtown Guadalajara. Every flight uses one two-storey terminal: arrivals, immigration, customs and baggage claim are on the ground floor, and departures are upstairs across four concourses, A to D.
International passengers clear immigration, collect their bags and pass customs; domestic passengers go straight to baggage claim. A new terminal and access roads are under construction, so pickup points can move.
Guadalajara runs on Central Standard Time (UTC−6) all year.
Entry requirements and local notes
Give the exact address. The metro area spreads across Guadalajara, Zapopan, Tlaquepaque and Tonalá, and they are priced differently. For Lake Chapala, name the town: Chapala, Ajijic or San Juan Cosalá.
Gated communities. Many homes in Zapopan and around Lake Chapala are in private fraccionamientos with a guarded entrance. Add the community name and gate instructions so the driver is let in.
Ride offers at the terminal. Turn down unsolicited offers of transport inside or just outside the terminal and wait for the driver named in your confirmation.
Entry. International visitors need a valid passport. Carry some pesos for tips and small purchases.
