General José María Yáñez International Airport (GYM), known as Guaymas International Airport, sits about 6 km south of Guaymas. It has one small, single-storey terminal; passengers walk across the apron, collect their bags and come out into the arrivals hall.
The only scheduled flights are regional ones to Loreto and Guerrero Negro, and the airport operates from 7:00 to 19:00.
Guaymas runs on Mountain Standard Time (UTC−7) all year, one hour behind Mexico City and the same as Arizona.
Few flights. With very few arrivals, taxis may not wait for every flight; a booked transfer means a driver is there when you land.
San Carlos addresses. Many condos and homes sit in gated developments; add the complex name, unit and any gate instructions.
Boat gear. Declare diving gear, rods and coolers so a vehicle with enough room is assigned.
