Krabi International Airport (KBV) is in Nuea Khlong, east of Krabi Town, and Thailand's Department of Airports runs it. Its terminal buildings are joined inside: Terminal 1 handles international flights and has the only immigration hall, while domestic flights use the domestic side, including Terminal 3, which opened in 2025.
On an international flight you go through immigration in Terminal 1, collect your bags on the lower level and walk through customs into the arrivals hall, where you find currency exchange counters, ATMs and car rental desks. Domestic arrivals lead straight to their own baggage claim and exit.
Thailand is on Indochina Time (UTC+7) all year, with no daylight saving time, and uses the Thai baht.
Entry requirements and local notes
Thailand Digital Arrival Card. Every foreign traveler must complete the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online within three days before arrival. Keep the confirmation on your phone for immigration.
Visa-free stays. Since 15 September 2026, citizens of about 60 countries and territories can enter Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days; others need a visa or visa on arrival. Check the current rule for your passport before you fly.
Railay by boat. Railay has no road access, so the last stretch is a longtail boat from Ao Nang beach or Ao Nam Mao pier, and you may wade ashore with your bags at low tide.
Krabi or Phuket. Some flights sold for the Krabi area land at Phuket International Airport (HKT) instead, so check the code on your ticket. For Phuket arrivals, see our Phuket Airport Transportation page.
