Paphos International Airport (PFO), also spelled Pafos, sits on the coast southeast of Paphos and is run by Hermes Airports. All flights use one passenger terminal, opened in 2008, so there is no terminal to choose.
Cyprus is in the EU but not in the Schengen area, so every arriving passenger waits in line at passport control, including those from Schengen countries. After baggage claim you walk through customs into the arrivals hall, where car rental desks, ATMs and currency exchange are close by and pre-booked drivers meet passengers. Lines can be long when several UK flights land together on summer afternoons.
Cyprus is on Eastern European Time (UTC+2) and switches to UTC+3 for daylight saving time from late March to late October. It uses the euro.
Not in Schengen. Cyprus is in the European Union but outside the Schengen area, so you show your passport, or an EU national ID card, on arrival even from a Schengen country. Check the visa rules for your nationality before you fly.
No EES in Cyprus. The EU Entry/Exit System used at Schengen borders does not operate in Cyprus, and non-EU passports are still stamped on arrival and departure.
Driving on the left. Traffic in Cyprus drives on the left and cars are right-hand drive, so look right first when you cross the road.
