The main terminal, opened in 2008, with check-in, security, shops before and after security, the information desk and car rental desks.
Also known as: Charleroi Airport, CRL Airport, Brussels Charleroi Airport.

Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL) is Belgium's second-busiest passenger airport, serving Charleroi, Brussels and the Wallonia region. It stands in Gosselies, part of the city of Charleroi, about 7 km (4 miles) north of downtown Charleroi and about 46 km (29 miles) south of Brussels.
Most flights are low-cost. Ryanair runs a large base here with routes to Spain, Italy, Portugal, Morocco and across Europe, and Wizz Air links Charleroi with Central and Eastern Europe. Pegasus Airlines flies to Istanbul and Antalya, while Volotea, Air Corsica and Air Arabia add seasonal routes to France, Corsica and Morocco. The airport handled about 11.2 million passengers in 2025.
There are two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, a short walk apart, so check the screens for the terminal your flight uses.
From the airport, many travelers head north to Brussels, its Midi station and the European Quarter, while others stay in Charleroi or continue to Namur, Mons and Waterloo.

Flights from other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. If you come from outside the Schengen area, such as the UK, Morocco or Turkey, you line up at passport control, where non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES).
After baggage claim you walk through customs into the arrivals area of the terminal your flight used. Terminal 1 has the information desk in its center, an ATM and the car rental desks, and the two terminals are about five minutes apart on foot.
For Brussels, follow the signs to the Flibco shuttle, which runs to Brussels-Midi station on a schedule timed to flights. For Charleroi and the train network, TEC bus line A runs to Charleroi-Central station about four times an hour. Taxis wait outside, and pre-booked drivers meet you in arrivals.
Belgium is on Central European Time and uses the euro.

TEC line A runs to Charleroi-Central station about four times an hour from about 4:30 to 23:30, taking around 20 minutes.
A combined bus and train ticket from SNCB takes you via Charleroi-Central to Brussels and other Belgian cities. It means one change, which is slower with luggage.
Taxis from companies such as Ideal Tax, Rapid Tax, Taxis Carolo and Sympatax serve the airport. They go door to door, which is easiest for Charleroi and nearby towns.
Europcar, Hertz, Sixt, Avis and Budget have desks at the airport, and the highway network toward Brussels, Namur and Mons is close by.
A pre-booked car meets you in arrivals and drives you door to door, useful for families, groups, late arrivals and trips to Brussels with luggage.
