Skiathos International Airport (JSI), officially Skiathos Alexandros Papadiamantis Airport after the island's best-known novelist, is the airport for the island of Skiathos in the Sporades, Greece. It sits about 4.5 km (3 miles) from Skiathos Town, a 10–15 minute drive. In 2025 it handled about 640,000 passengers, most of them in summer.
The UK is the biggest market, followed by Italy, Greece, Austria and Sweden. Jet2, easyJet, TUI and Ryanair fly from many UK and European cities in summer, along with Austrian Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines, Discover Airlines and others, while Olympic Air and Sky Express fly to Athens.
The runway is short and narrow, with a public road close to its end, which makes Skiathos famous with plane spotters. Terminal 1, rebuilt by Fraport Greece, handles domestic flights, and Terminal 2 handles international arrivals. There are no jet bridges, so passengers are bussed between the terminal and the aircraft.
From the airport, most visitors head into Skiathos Town and its old port, along the south coast to Troulos, Koukounaries and the island's beaches, or to the port for ferries to Skopelos and Alonissos.

You leave the aircraft by steps and take a bus to the terminal. Flights from Athens and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. If you come from outside the Schengen area, as many summer visitors do from the UK, you arrive through Terminal 2 and queue at passport control, where non-EU visitors are registered in the EU's Entry/Exit System. On summer weekends, when several charter flights land close together, the small terminals can be crowded.
Once you have your bags, head outside. Metered taxis run 24 hours from the rank outside the terminal, and the drive to Skiathos Town takes about 10–15 minutes, depending on traffic. Pre-booked drivers usually meet you in the arrivals area.
If you are continuing to Skopelos or Alonissos, allow time to get from the airport to the port in Skiathos Town for the ferry.
Greece is on Eastern European Time (EET), two hours ahead of the UK, and uses the euro.
Skiathos Town is only minutes away; taxis and pre-booked cars are the main options.

A pre-booked car meets you in the arrivals area, useful for hotels along the south coast, villas and groups with luggage.
Rental companies serve the airport and the town, popular for reaching the island's beaches.
