TUI Airways is the British airline of TUI Group, the travel company, and flies mainly for TUI UK & Ireland package holidays, with flight-only seats also sold. It traces its history to Euravia, founded in 1962, which became Britannia Airways, then Thomsonfly and Thomson Airways, and took the TUI Airways name in 2017. Its head office is in Luton, England. TUI Airways is not part of a global airline alliance. TUI fly Belgium, TUI fly Netherlands, TUI fly Deutschland and TUI fly Nordic are separate sister airlines in the same group.
TUI Airways flies from more than 20 airports in the UK and Ireland, with its main bases at London Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham. Its network covers about 77 destinations in 31 countries, mainly holiday resorts in Spain and the Canary Islands, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Egypt and Cape Verde, plus long-haul flights to Mexico, the Caribbean, Florida and Asia.
The fleet of about 70 aircraft combines Boeing 737-800 and 737 MAX 8 jets for European routes with Boeing 787 Dreamliners for long-haul flights.
