Ángel Albino Corzo International Airport, known as Tuxtla Gutiérrez International Airport (TGZ), serves Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the capital of Chiapas, along with San Cristóbal de las Casas, Comitán and central Chiapas in southern Mexico. It sits in the municipality of Chiapa de Corzo, about 35 km from Tuxtla Gutiérrez, and opened in 2006, replacing the old city airport.
Mexico City is by far the busiest route, followed by Guadalajara, Cancún, Monterrey and Tijuana. Viva Aerobus flies to Cancún, Guadalajara, Mérida, Monterrey, Tijuana and both Mexico City airports; Volaris to Cancún, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Puebla and Tijuana; Aeroméxico to Mexico City; and Mexicana to Mexico City's Felipe Ángeles airport. United Airlines resumes flights to Houston in October 2026.
The airport has one two-story terminal, expanded in 2020. Arrivals, baggage claim, immigration and customs are on the lower level; check-in, security and a pier of eight gates with jet bridges are upstairs.
From the airport, travelers head to Tuxtla, to the Sumidero Canyon and the colonial town of Chiapa de Corzo, and up into the highlands to San Cristóbal de las Casas.

Tuxtla has one terminal, and you leave the aircraft by jet bridge onto the upper floor, then go down to arrivals on the lower level.
If you arrive on an international flight, you clear immigration first on the lower level. Have your passport and your flight details ready; visitors from many countries do not need a visa, but check the rules for your passport before you travel. After immigration, collect your bags at baggage claim and pass through customs.
Domestic passengers go straight to baggage claim and then into the arrivals hall.
The terminal has ATMs, Wi-Fi, a café and shops. The airport sits outside the city, about 35 km from Tuxtla and farther from San Cristóbal de las Casas, so plan your ride before you land: a pre-booked transfer, a taxi or a rental car. If you booked a transfer, your driver waits for you in the arrivals hall or just outside the terminal doors.
A pre-booked driver meets you at arrivals and takes you to Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapa de Corzo or up to San Cristóbal de las Casas. It suits families and anyone with luggage.
Taxis serve the terminal. Confirm the destination before you set off, especially for the longer trip to San Cristóbal.
Useful for touring the Sumidero Canyon, the highlands and the rest of Chiapas.
