Amado Nervo International Airport, known as Tepic International Airport (TPQ), serves Tepic, the capital of the state of Nayarit on Mexico's Pacific side. It is named after the Tepic-born poet Amado Nervo and is run by Aeropuertos Mexicanos.
Tijuana is by far the busiest route, flown by Volaris, which also flies to Los Angeles. Aeroméxico flies to Mexico City, Viva Aerobus to Mexico City's Felipe Ángeles airport, and United Airlines to Houston. In season, WestJet flies to Calgary and Aéreo Servicio Guerrero to Puerto Balleto in the Islas Marías.
The airport has one passenger terminal with check-in, arrivals, car rental, a restaurant, taxi stands and a departure concourse of five gates. It officially operates from 6:00 to 21:00, so there are no late-night arrivals.
From the airport, travelers head into Tepic and on to the Nayarit coast and the surrounding towns of the state.

Tepic has one small passenger terminal, so every flight arrives in the same building.
If you arrive on an international flight, such as from Los Angeles, Houston or Calgary, you clear immigration first. Have your passport and your flight details ready; visitors from many countries do not need a visa, but check the rules for your passport before you travel. After immigration, collect your bags and pass through customs.
Domestic passengers go straight to baggage claim and then into the arrivals area.
The car rental counters, a restaurant and the taxi stands are at the terminal. The airport operates from 6:00 to 21:00, so plan your ride before you land: a pre-booked transfer, a taxi or a rental car. If you booked a transfer, your driver waits for you as you leave the arrivals area. Tepic uses Mountain Standard Time, one hour behind Mexico City.
A pre-booked driver meets you at arrivals and takes you to your hotel in Tepic or elsewhere in Nayarit. It suits families and anyone with luggage.
Taxis wait at the stands at the terminal. Confirm the destination before you set off.
Rental counters are at the terminal. Useful for exploring the Nayarit coast and towns.
