Kayseri Erkilet International Airport (ASR) is the airport of Kayseri, in Central Anatolia, just north of the city, and the main year-round air gateway to Cappadocia. It shares its runway with a Turkish Air Force base, and passengers use one compact terminal building with separate domestic and international halls.
On an international flight you go through passport control and customs in the international hall. Domestic arrivals, including connections through Istanbul, skip these checks and come out through the domestic hall. Baggage claim is a short walk from the gate.
Turkey uses Turkey Time (UTC+3) all year and does not change clocks for daylight saving.
Visa or e-Visa. Many nationalities, including US, Canadian, UK and Australian citizens, can visit Turkey visa-free for up to 90 days in 180, while others need an e-Visa from evisa.gov.tr before departure. Your passport should be valid for at least six months from arrival.
Kayseri, not Nevşehir. Cappadocia has a second airport, Nevşehir Kapadokya (NAV). Check that your ticket says ASR before you book this page.
