The Stansted Express is direct, but it stops at Liverpool Street, at the eastern edge of the City: most hotels are still a taxi or an Underground ride away, with your suitcases. Coaches take longer once they reach London traffic, and a taxi from the rank is metered all the way.

London Stansted lies about 55 km northeast of central London, in Uttlesford, Essex, beside the M11. Typical drive times from the terminal, in normal traffic:
