Airport Transportation in Pisa

Pre-booked private transportation takes you directly from Pisa International Airport to your hotel, resort or vacation rental.

After immigration, baggage claim and customs, continue outside the terminal to the meeting area named in your confirmation. Your vehicle is reserved only for the passengers on your reservation: unlike a shared shuttle, it makes no extra hotel stops for other travelers, and the price is per vehicle, not per person.

Our airport transportation in Pisa takes you from Galileo Galilei Airport to hotels and apartments near the Leaning Tower and across Pisa, to Florence, to the walled city of Lucca, to the Versilia beaches at Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi, and to the cruise port at Livorno.

Pisa Airport Transfers

Pisa airport transfers start in the arrivals hall of the single terminal, where your driver waits with a name sign after baggage claim. We track your flight, so the pickup follows your real landing time, and you get a fixed price per vehicle before you fly, from a sedan for two to a van for a family or group with luggage.

Each Pisa airport transfer goes door to door to your hotel, apartment or villa in Pisa, Florence, Lucca or the Tuscan countryside, or to the ship at Livorno, with no change from the Pisa Mover to the train. Heading to the Cinque Terre or Siena? Enter your address in the booking form to see whether a transfer is offered.

Pisa Airport Shuttle

Our Pisa airport shuttle is a private van for your party only, not a coach that waits to fill up before leaving for Florence. It leaves as soon as you have your bags, with room for suitcases and strollers, and suits families, groups, wedding parties and villa stays in Tuscany.

Landing at Pisa Airport

Pisa International Airport (PSA), also known as Galileo Galilei Airport, is on the southern edge of Pisa and is run by Toscana Aeroporti. All flights use one passenger terminal: Schengen flights board from the ground floor and non-Schengen flights, such as those to the UK, from the first floor. Expansion work can change walkways and signs, so follow the current signage.

Flights from Italy and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks; from outside the Schengen area you go through passport control first. Baggage claim and the arrivals hall are on the ground floor, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers.

Italy is on Central European Time (UTC+1) and switches to UTC+2 for daylight saving time from late March to late October. It uses the euro.

Entry requirements and local notes

Schengen entry. Italy is in the Schengen area. Non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026. Check the visa rules for your nationality before you fly.

Pisa or Florence. Pisa International Airport (PSA) and Florence Airport, Peretola (FLR) are different airports. Check the code on your ticket; landing at Florence, book our Florence airport transportation instead.

Limited traffic zones. The historic centers of Pisa, Lucca and Florence are limited traffic zones (ZTL) closed to non-resident cars. Give your full address; your driver stops at the nearest point a car can reach, and some hotels can register the vehicle for access.

Passport at check-in. Italian hotels and vacation rentals must register every guest's identity document, so keep your passport handy when you arrive.

Pisa Airport Transportation FAQs

Where will my driver meet me at Pisa Airport?

In the arrivals hall on the ground floor of the single terminal, holding a sign with your name, after baggage claim.

How far is Pisa Airport from Pisa, Florence and Lucca?

The airport is on the southern edge of Pisa, about 2 km from Pisa Centrale station, so the Leaning Tower is a short drive away. Florence is about 85 km east, usually around 1 hour 15 minutes by road, and Lucca is about 30 minutes north.

Can you take me to Florence?

Yes. We drive door to door from Pisa Airport to hotels and apartments in Florence, including the historic center. Give the full address, as much of the center is a limited traffic zone.

Can you take me to Lucca?

Yes. We drive to hotels, apartments and villas in and around Lucca. Inside the walls, traffic is restricted, so your driver stops at the nearest point a car can reach if your street is closed.

Can you take me to Viareggio or Forte dei Marmi?

Yes. We drive to hotels and apartments along the Versilia coast, including Viareggio, Lido di Camaiore, Marina di Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi.

Can you take me to the cruise port at Livorno?

Yes. We drive door to door to the Port of Livorno and its cruise terminal. Give us your ship's boarding time when you book, so the pickup leaves a comfortable margin.

Can you take me to the Cinque Terre or Siena?

The Cinque Terre villages are on the Ligurian coast north of Pisa, and Siena is in southern Tuscany. Enter your address in the booking form to see whether a transfer is offered; if it is not, contact us before you fly.

How many terminals does Pisa Airport have?

One. All flights use the same passenger terminal, and every passenger comes out into the same arrivals hall on the ground floor.

Do you drive to vacation rentals, villas and agriturismos?

Yes. Give the full address, the property name and any gate or access instructions when you book, so your driver can find you on country roads.

Can you pick me up from a late-night or early-morning flight?

Yes. Your pickup is set for your flight's arrival time, late at night or early in the morning, after the Pisa Mover and most buses have stopped running.

Should I accept a ride from people offering one inside the terminal?

There is no need. Booking ahead gives you a confirmed vehicle and a meeting point before you land. If someone approaches you in arrivals, check the company name against your confirmation before getting in.

What happens if my flight is delayed or canceled?

We monitor the flight on your reservation, so your driver waits for the actual landing. If your flight number, date or airline changes, or your flight is canceled, tell customer service so the pickup can be moved.

Can I book a ride back to Pisa Airport?

Yes. Book a one-way departure or a round trip from your hotel, villa or cruise ship, and give your flight number and departure time, so the pickup is set for check-in and security.
