Passenger Terminal
The single terminal for all flights. Check-in areas A and B and the arrivals hall are on the ground floor; Schengen flights board from gates 01 to 11 and non-Schengen flights from gates 21 to 25 on the first floor.
Also known as: Pisa Airport, PSA Airport, Galileo Galilei Airport, Pisa Galileo Galilei Airport.
PSA · LIRP · Pisa
Pisa International Airport (PSA), also called Galileo Galilei Airport, is the main airport for Pisa and western Tuscany, Italy, and a common gateway for travelers heading to Florence. It sits on the southern edge of Pisa, about 2 km from Pisa Centrale railway station, and Toscana Aeroporti runs it.
Most flights are short-haul European routes. Ryanair flies the most destinations, across Italy, Spain, the UK and Central and Eastern Europe, while easyJet, Jet2.com, British Airways and Wizz Air add flights to London, Manchester and other cities. Transavia, Norwegian, Volotea, Aegean and Air Arabia serve Amsterdam, Scandinavia, France, Athens and Casablanca, several of them in summer only. The airport handled almost 6 million passengers in 2025.
All flights use one passenger terminal, with arrivals and baggage claim on the ground floor. Schengen gates are on the ground floor and non-Schengen gates on the first floor. The airfield is shared with the Italian Air Force.
From the airport, most travelers head into Pisa for the Leaning Tower and Piazza dei Miracoli, or continue to Florence, about 85 km (53 miles) east, and to Lucca, the Versilia beaches at Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi, and the cruise port at Livorno.

Flights from Italy and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. If you come from outside the Schengen area, such as the UK, you go through passport control first, where non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System.
Pisa has one passenger terminal, so every flight ends in the same place: baggage claim and the arrivals hall are on the ground floor. If a bag is missing, the Lost & Found office is in the baggage claim area, before you leave it.
In the arrivals hall you find Customer Service, the left luggage desk and a currency exchange. Follow the signs for the Pisa Mover to reach Pisa Centrale station, where trains leave for Florence, Lucca and the coast. Buses to Florence and other Tuscan cities leave from the bus area in front of the terminal, and taxis wait at the stand outside arrivals. Car rental desks are in a separate building a short signposted walk away, also reached by shuttle bus. Expansion work at the terminal can change walkways and signage, so follow the current signs.
Italy is on Central European Time and uses the euro.
The Pisa Mover and train are the cheapest way to Pisa and Florence; a taxi or pre-booked car is easier with luggage or for villas and coastal towns.
The automated shuttle train links the airport with Pisa Centrale station in about 5 minutes, running from 6:00 to midnight (to 1:00 from June to September). Buy a ticket at the machines before boarding.
From Pisa Centrale, regional trains run to Florence Santa Maria Novella in about an hour and also serve Lucca and the coast. You change from the Pisa Mover to the train with your luggage.
Coaches, including Flibco, leave from the bus area in front of the terminal and reach Florence in about an hour, roughly every 30 minutes in the daytime.
Official taxis wait at the stand outside the arrivals exit and go door to door around Pisa and beyond. A long trip to Florence or the coast costs far more than the train or bus.
Rental companies share a separate car rental terminal about 5 minutes' walk away on a signposted path, also served by a shuttle bus.
A pre-booked car meets you in the arrivals hall and goes straight to your address, useful for families, groups, villa stays and late arrivals.

Pisa International Airport is on the southern edge of Pisa, about 2 km from Pisa Centrale station. The Pisa Mover shuttle train reaches the station in about 5 minutes, and from there the Leaning Tower and Piazza dei Miracoli are a short bus or taxi ride across the old town. A taxi or pre-booked car goes door to door from the terminal.
Take the Pisa Mover to Pisa Centrale, then a regional train to Florence Santa Maria Novella, about an hour. Direct coaches, including Flibco, leave from the bus area in front of the terminal and also take about an hour. A taxi or pre-booked car drives the roughly 85 km door to door, which is easiest with luggage.
The Pisa Mover is an automated shuttle train between the airport and Pisa Centrale railway station, a ride of about 5 minutes. It runs every day from 6:00 to midnight, and until 1:00 from June to September. Buy a single ticket at the machines before boarding, or a combined train and Pisa Mover ticket at Customer Service.
Yes. Pisa International Airport is named after Galileo Galilei, who was born in Pisa, so many travelers call it Galileo Galilei Airport. Its code is PSA. It is a different airport from Florence's Amerigo Vespucci Airport at Peretola (FLR), so check the code on your ticket.
Pisa has one passenger terminal for all flights. Check-in areas A and B, baggage claim and the arrivals hall are on the ground floor. Schengen flights board from gates 01 to 11 on the ground floor, and non-Schengen flights, such as those to the UK, from gates 21 to 25 on the first floor.

Yes. Coaches to Florence, including Flibco, leave from the bus area in front of the terminal, roughly every 30 minutes during the day, and reach Florence in about an hour. Buses to other Tuscan cities use the same area. Check the operator's current timetable before you travel.
Official taxis wait at the taxi stand at the terminal exit on the arrivals side. The local cooperative also runs a radio taxi line 24 hours a day. A taxi suits short trips around Pisa; for Florence, Lucca or the coast, the train, bus or a pre-booked car are the usual alternatives.
Yes. The Galilei VIP Lounge is open to passengers of participating airlines and to other passengers for a fee on request. Pisa also has a courtesy lounge in the check-in area for passengers with special needs, including nursing mothers, and the staffed Sala Amica waiting area near the gates.
Italy is in the Schengen area, so flights from other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks, while arrivals from outside it, such as the UK, go through passport control. Non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026. Check the visa rules for your nationality before you fly.
Toscana Aeroporti runs four parking lots: P3 for short stays in front of departures, the P2 parking garage in front of the terminal, P1 West about 200 m away, and the low-cost P4 Long stay East about 900 m away, with a free shuttle. P2 and P3 have Telepass lanes and free spaces for disability badge holders.
Car rental companies are in a separate car rental terminal about 5 minutes' walk from the passenger terminal, along a signposted pedestrian path. A shuttle bus also runs between the two buildings, which helps when you are traveling with heavy bags or small children.
Yes. The luggage store is at Customer Service in the terminal and is open from 8:00 to 20:00. It is handy if you want to visit the Leaning Tower between flights, since the Pisa Mover reaches Pisa Centrale in about 5 minutes.
