Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) is the main airport of the Cayman Islands, on the edge of George Town, the capital, on Grand Cayman. It is run by the Cayman Islands Airports Authority and is the islands' gateway for flights from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
Cayman Airways, the national airline, flies to Miami, Tampa, Los Angeles, Kingston, Panama City and other cities, and its Express service links Grand Cayman with Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. American Airlines, Delta, United, JetBlue and Southwest fly from US hubs, Air Canada, WestJet and Porter from Toronto and Ottawa, and British Airways from London Heathrow. The airport handled 1,420,354 passengers in 2025, a record.
All flights use one terminal, expanded and reopened in 2019, with a single arrivals hall and one departure lounge. Most major car rental companies are across the street.
The airport sits just east of downtown George Town and the cruise port, at the south end of Seven Mile Beach. From here travelers head to the hotels and condos of Seven Mile Beach and Camana Bay, to West Bay, or along the coast road to Bodden Town, East End and Rum Point.

After you leave the aircraft, you go through immigration first. Have your passport ready and be prepared to show a return or onward ticket and where you are staying; visitors are usually granted permission to land for the length of their stay.
Next comes baggage claim, then customs. Visitors with nothing to declare and within their duty-free allowance generally do not need to fill in a customs declaration card; if you are over the allowance or unsure about an item, speak to a Customs and Border Control officer. Cannabis in all forms, including CBD and THC products, is prohibited.
Once through customs you walk out to the arrivals greeting area in front of the terminal. Taxis are dispatched from there in order by the airport's ground transport attendant, and pre-booked drivers and hotel representatives wait in the same area. Car rental offices are a short walk across the street, following the signs.
The Cayman Islands use the Cayman Islands dollar, and US dollars are widely accepted. Remember that traffic drives on the left.
A taxi or a pre-booked transfer is the usual way to reach Seven Mile Beach and the rest of the island.
Taxis wait in the arrivals greeting area and are dispatched in order by the airport's ground transport attendant, with fares set by a national fare schedule. You get a dispatch ticket that names your driver.
A pre-booked driver meets you in the arrivals greeting area, useful for families, groups, villas in the East End or North Side, and late arrivals.
Most major car rental companies are a short walk across the street from the terminal. Traffic drives on the left, which takes some getting used to.
