Porter Airlines is a Canadian airline, officially Porter Airlines Inc., headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. It was founded in 2006 and operated its first flight, from Toronto's Billy Bishop airport to Ottawa, on 23 October 2006. It belongs to Porter Aviation Holdings Inc. and is not a member of an airline alliance.
Porter flies from two Toronto airports. Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, on the Toronto Islands, has its Dash 8-400 turboprop flights, while Toronto Pearson and Ottawa are the bases for its Embraer E195-E2 jets. Hamilton, Montréal–Trudeau and Halifax are other important bases. From these cities it serves more than 50 destinations across Canada and the United States, and sun destinations in Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America, including Cancún and Puerto Vallarta.
The fleet of about 82 aircraft combines Embraer E195-E2 jets and De Havilland Dash 8-400 turboprops, with more E195-E2 jets on order.
