Hamburg Airport (Flughafen Hamburg, IATA: HAM) is the fifth-busiest airport in Germany and serves as a major gateway to northern Germany and the Baltic Sea region. Located approximately 8.5 kilometers (5.3 miles) north of central Hamburg, the airport is officially named Hamburg Airport Helmut Schmidt in honor of the former German Chancellor.
