Commercial Terminal
The single passenger terminal for all airline flights, with four gates and no jet bridges, so passengers board and leave the aircraft by stairs.
Also known as: La Romana Airport, Casa de Campo Airport, LRM Airport, Casa de Campo International Airport.
LRM · MDLR · La Romana
La Romana International Airport (LRM), also called Casa de Campo International Airport, serves La Romana on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic, along with the Casa de Campo resort and the beach towns of Bayahibe and Dominicus.
Most scheduled flights are seasonal and come from Europe and Canada: Neos flies from Milan, Rome and Verona, Condor and Discover Airlines from Germany, TUI Airways from the UK, and Air Transat and WestJet from Montréal and Toronto. American Airlines links the airport with Miami. The airport also handles much of the country's private aviation, mostly for guests of Casa de Campo. It handled 142,807 passengers in 2024.
Airline passengers use one small commercial terminal, built to look like an old sugar mill, with four gates and no jet bridges. Private jets use a separate general aviation terminal at the west end of the field.
The airport sits beside the highway between La Romana and Higüey, about 10 km (6 miles) east of downtown La Romana, a drive of 10 to 15 minutes. Casa de Campo, its marina and Altos de Chavón are next door, and Bayahibe and Dominicus lie a short drive further east. Santo Domingo is about 110 km (68 miles) to the west.

Complete the Dominican Republic e-Ticket before you fly: it is free on the government's official portal, and you show its QR code at immigration. Carry a passport valid for your stay and your return ticket.
La Romana is a small airport, so you leave the aircraft by stairs and cross to the terminal. Inside, you line up at immigration, collect your bags in the baggage claim hall, then pass through customs. Duty-free shops are open in the arrivals area if you want to buy something before you leave.
There is only one commercial terminal, so there is no terminal to choose. After customs you exit straight to the arrivals curb, where taxis, resort transfers and pre-booked drivers wait. Car rental counters are inside the terminal, to the right of the customs exit.
The Dominican Republic is on Atlantic Standard Time all year and uses the Dominican peso, although US dollars are widely accepted in the resorts.
A pre-booked car or your resort's transfer is easiest; there is no public bus from the terminal.
Taxis wait outside arrivals and usually charge fixed fares to common destinations, paid in cash. Agree the fare before you get in.
A pre-booked driver meets you at the arrivals exit and takes you straight to Casa de Campo, La Romana, Bayahibe or Dominicus, which suits families and late arrivals.
Casa de Campo and many Bayahibe and Dominicus hotels arrange transfers for their guests when booked with the stay.
Counters such as Enterprise and National are inside the terminal, to the right of the customs exit, and an agent walks you to the parking lot. Counters keep daytime hours, so late arrivals should check ahead.

La Romana airport is right next to Casa de Campo; the resort describes the drive as about 10 minutes. Villa guests reach their residences by the resort's roads, and Altos de Chavón and the Casa de Campo Marina are also close. A taxi, a resort transfer or a pre-booked car waits outside the arrivals exit.

Yes. La Romana International Airport is often called Casa de Campo International Airport because it sits beside the resort and is run by Central Romana, the company behind Casa de Campo. Its IATA code is LRM, and it is the only commercial airport serving La Romana.
Bayahibe and Dominicus are east of the airport along the coast, about 20 km (12 miles) away. The drive usually takes 20 to 30 minutes on the highway toward Higüey, then the road down to the coast. There is no public bus from the terminal, so most travelers take a taxi, a resort transfer or a pre-booked car.

Yes. Every passenger on a commercial flight into the Dominican Republic needs the free e-Ticket, completed on the government's official portal before check-in. You get a QR code for arrival and another for departure. Private flights do not need it, and the government's own portal charges nothing.
Tourists normally need a passport valid for six months. Until 31 December 2026, nationals of the US, Canada, the UK, the EU and several South American countries may enter with a passport valid for the whole stay. Most of these visitors need no visa, but check the rules for your nationality and carry a return ticket.

Yes. La Romana airport is open 24 hours, mainly for private flights, while the commercial terminal opens around its airline schedule. Shops, cafés and car rental counters keep shorter hours, so late arrivals should plan ahead. Airline traffic is busiest in the northern winter season, when most seasonal routes run.

La Romana and the rest of the Dominican Republic are on Atlantic Standard Time, UTC-4, all year. The country does not use daylight saving time, so it matches New York in the northern summer and is one hour ahead of it in winter. Set your watch when you land.
