Also known as: Naples Airport, Capodichino Airport, Naples Capodichino Airport, NAP Airport.

Naples International Airport (NAP), also called Capodichino, serves Naples in the Campania region of southern Italy. It is operated by GESAC and is the busiest airport in southern Italy.
Low-cost airlines carry much of the traffic. easyJet, Ryanair, Volotea and Wizz Air fly to cities across Italy and Europe, while ITA Airways connects Naples with Rome and Milan. Network airlines such as Air France, British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines link Naples to their hubs, and Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and American Airlines run seasonal flights to the United States.
All flights use a single terminal, Terminal 1. The airport sits in the Capodichino district, about 6 km north-east of the city center, and the Tangenziale urban highway connects it with the city and the motorway network. The Alibus links it with Napoli Centrale station and the port.
From the airport, many travelers head into Naples itself or continue to Sorrento, Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. Others take ferries and hydrofoils from the port of Naples to Capri and Ischia.

If you arrive from outside the Schengen area, you go through passport control first, where automated eGates are available for eligible passports. Non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026; the planned ETIAS travel authorization is not yet in operation.
Collect your bags in the baggage hall and pass through customs into the arrivals area. The terminal is compact, so the exit is a short walk.
Outside the arrivals exit you will find the official taxi rank, the Alibus stop and the bus area, including the Curreri bus to Sorrento on the far right. Licensed taxis are white with a TAXI light on the roof; confirm the fixed rate before you set off. Pre-booked drivers usually wait in the arrivals hall with a name sign. Ignore anyone who approaches you inside the terminal offering a ride.
Naples has hot, dry summers and mild, wetter winters. The local time is Central European Time, and the currency is the euro.
The Alibus suits most travelers heading into central Naples or to the ferry port, while a taxi, the Curreri bus or a private transfer works better for Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast.
The Alibus stops outside arrivals and runs about every 20 to 30 minutes to Piazza Garibaldi (Napoli Centrale), taking 25 to 35 minutes, then continues to Molo Beverello for ferries. Traffic can lengthen the trip at rush hour.
White licensed taxis wait at the official rank outside arrivals. Fixed rates apply to Napoli Centrale, Molo Beverello and Mergellina, so agree on the fixed rate before you leave.
Curreri buses leave from the bus area outside Terminal 1 arrivals and reach Piazza Lauro in Sorrento in about 90 minutes. There are about eight departures a day, from around 09:00 to 19:30, and summer weekends can sell out.
Regional buses connect the airport with Salerno, Caserta, Avellino and Benevento. Services are less frequent than the Alibus, so check timetables before you travel.
Uber operates at Naples airport with options such as Uber Black and Van. The app shows where to meet your driver after you request a ride.
A pre-booked driver meets you in arrivals and drives you directly to Naples, Sorrento or the Amalfi Coast. It avoids changes between bus, train and ferry but must be arranged in advance.

Naples International Airport is about 6 km (4 miles) north-east of central Naples, in the Capodichino district. The Alibus reaches Piazza Garibaldi and Napoli Centrale station in about 25 to 35 minutes, longer at rush hour. The Tangenziale urban highway connects the airport with the city and the motorways.
Yes. Naples International Airport is inside the city of Naples, in the Capodichino district north-east of the center. Its closeness means the trip to the center is short compared with many European airports. Buses and taxis reach Napoli Centrale station and the port in well under an hour in normal traffic.
Naples airport has one passenger terminal, Terminal 1, which handles all domestic, Schengen and international flights. A former Terminal 2 for charter flights was demolished in 2015. With a single terminal, check-in, arrivals, the taxi rank and the bus stops are all close together and easy to find.
Low-cost airlines such as easyJet, Ryanair, Volotea and Wizz Air carry much of the traffic to cities across Europe. ITA Airways flies to Rome and Milan, and Air France, British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines connect Naples with their hubs. Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and American Airlines run seasonal flights to the United States.
Yes. Licensed taxis wait at the official rank outside the arrivals exit. They are white, with a TAXI light on the roof and a meter visible inside. Fixed rates apply to Napoli Centrale station, Molo Beverello and Mergellina, so confirm the fixed rate before setting off and decline drivers who approach you inside the terminal.
The Alibus is the main public option. It leaves from outside arrivals about every 20 to 30 minutes and runs to Piazza Garibaldi, by Napoli Centrale station, and on to Molo Beverello port. There is no train or metro at the airport yet; a Line 1 metro station at Capodichino is under construction and expected by 2027.
Yes. Uber operates at Naples International Airport with options such as Uber Black and Van, and rides can also be reserved in advance in the app. After you request a ride, the app shows where to meet your driver. Licensed white taxis at the official rank outside arrivals are another option.
Italy is in the Schengen area, so travelers arriving from outside it pass passport control in Terminal 1, where eGates serve eligible passports. Non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026; the planned ETIAS travel authorization is not yet in operation. Check visa rules for your nationality.
The Curreri bus runs directly from outside Terminal 1 arrivals to Piazza Lauro in Sorrento in about 90 minutes, with about eight departures a day. You can also take the Alibus to Piazza Garibaldi and the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento, or travel by taxi or pre-arranged transfer. Seasonal hydrofoils also run from Molo Beverello.
There is no direct public transport from the airport to Positano or Amalfi. A common route is the Curreri bus to Sorrento, then a local bus along the coast road to Positano, Amalfi or Ravello. Ferries also serve the coast in season. Taxis and pre-arranged transfers go directly but must use the narrow, winding coast road.
Ferries and hydrofoils to Capri leave from the port of Naples, mainly from Molo Beverello. From the airport, take the Alibus, which continues past Piazza Garibaldi to Molo Beverello, or take a taxi, which has a fixed rate to the port. Taxis also have a fixed rate to Mergellina, which has hydrofoils to Capri and Ischia.
Naples uses Central European Time (UTC+1) and moves to daylight saving time (UTC+2) from late March to late October. Italy's currency is the euro. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, wetter winters, so summer visits to the coast bring strong sun and busy roads.
Naples International Airport is operated by GESAC. It handled about 13.3 million passengers in 2025, making it the busiest airport in southern Italy and the fourth busiest in the country. It has a single runway and one passenger terminal, which serves both domestic and international flights.
