Transavia is the low-cost airline brand of the Air France-KLM group. Two airlines fly under the name: Transavia in the Netherlands, owned by KLM, which made its first flight in November 1966 and has its head office in Hoofddorp, near Amsterdam; and Transavia France, set up in 2006 and based at Paris-Orly, which began flying in May 2007. Transavia is not a member of an airline alliance, but its flights earn Flying Blue Miles, the Air France-KLM loyalty program.
The Dutch airline's main base is Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS), with further bases at Rotterdam The Hague, Eindhoven and Brussels. Transavia France's main base is Paris-Orly (ORY), where it also flies domestic routes to Nice, Toulouse and Marseille, with further bases at Lyon, Nantes, Montpellier and Marseille. Together they serve more than 130 destinations in Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, Cape Verde and Senegal, many of them leisure and seasonal routes.
The combined fleet of about 150 aircraft is made up of Boeing 737-800s and Airbus A320neo and A321neo jets.
