Luxembourg is in the Schengen Area, so flights from other Schengen countries arrive without passport control. If you arrive from outside Schengen, you pass passport control first, and non-EU visitors are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System with fingerprints and a facial image instead of a passport stamp.
All arriving passengers collect their bags and exit into the arrivals hall in Terminal A, even if the plane parked at a Terminal B gate. Car rental desks are in the arrivals hall.
Outside, taxis wait in front of Terminal A. The tram stop for line T1 and the stops for buses 16 and 29 are at the airport, and all public transport in Luxembourg is free, so you do not need a ticket. If someone is collecting you by car, short-term car park C at the terminal entrance is free for the first 15 minutes.
Luxembourg uses the euro and runs on Central European Time (UTC+1), switching to summer time (UTC+2) from late March to late October.
The free tram or bus suits most travelers heading to Luxembourg City, while a taxi is easier with heavy luggage.

The Uber app has worked in Luxembourg since June 2024 through a partnership with WEBTAXI, so a ride booked in the app is a licensed taxi rather than a private car.
