The larger terminal, with Concourses A to G and about 117 gates. It handles Delta and most other airlines, and international arrivals clear US immigration and customs at Concourse G.
Also known as: MSP Airport, Minneapolis Airport, Minneapolis St Paul Airport, Twin Cities Airport. Formerly Minneapolis–St. Paul Metropolitan Airport, Speedway Field.

Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) is the main airport for Minneapolis, Saint Paul and the rest of Minnesota, in the United States. It sits between the two downtowns, within about 10 miles (16 km) of each, next to Fort Snelling and the cities of Richfield and Bloomington.
MSP is a hub for Delta Air Lines and the home base of Sun Country Airlines, which together carry most of its passengers. Delta flies nonstop across the United States and to Amsterdam, London, Paris, Rome, Seoul and Tokyo, and Sun Country adds flights to Mexico, the Caribbean and sun destinations across the country. American, United, Southwest, Alaska, Frontier, Air Canada, WestJet, Icelandair, Air France, KLM and Discover Airlines also fly here. The airport handled about 36.1 million passengers in 2025.
There are two terminals, about a mile apart and not connected inside the airport: Terminal 1 with Concourses A to G, and the smaller Terminal 2 with the H gates. The METRO Blue Line light rail links both terminals and runs to downtown Minneapolis and the Mall of America.
From the airport, most travelers head to downtown Minneapolis, downtown Saint Paul, the University of Minnesota, Bloomington and the Mall of America, or the suburbs around the Twin Cities. The drive to either downtown usually takes 20 to 25 minutes outside rush hour.

Two: Terminal 1 (Concourses A to G) and Terminal 2 (H gates)
If you arrive on an international flight, you clear US immigration and customs before you reach the public area: at Concourse G in Terminal 1, or in Terminal 2's own international arrivals area for Sun Country and Icelandair. Have your passport and your ESTA or visa ready, and declare any food, plants or animal products. International passengers in Terminal 1 come out near Bag Claim 11.
Check which terminal your airline uses: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are separate buildings about a mile apart, linked by the free METRO Blue Line.
In Terminal 1, collect your bags in baggage claim, then follow the signs down to the Tram Level for the Ground Transportation Center, the taxi stand, ride-app pickups and the light rail. In Terminal 2, the Ground Transport Center is on the ground level of the Purple Ramp, across from the terminal.
Travelers Assistance volunteers staff information booths in both terminals if you need directions. Minnesota is on Central Time.
The light rail is the cheapest way downtown; a taxi or pre-booked car is easier with luggage, children or an address away from the stations.
Trains stop at both terminals and reach the Mall of America in about 12 minutes and downtown Minneapolis in about 25 minutes, every 15 to 30 minutes from early morning to around midnight. For Saint Paul you change trains or take a bus.
Metro Transit route 54 leaves from the Terminal 1 Transit Station on Level 1 of the Blue and Red ramps and runs to downtown Saint Paul. Terminal 2 has no bus service, so ride the Blue Line to Terminal 1 first.
Taxis leave from the Ground Transportation Center at Terminal 1 and from the Ground Transport Center on the ground level of the Purple Ramp at Terminal 2, with airport staff helping from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. Fares are metered for most trips.
At Terminal 1, ride-app pickups are in the Ground Transportation Center, in Zones A, B and C; at Terminal 2 they are at the Ground Transport Center by the Purple Ramp.
A pre-booked car or van meets you at the terminal and goes door to door, which suits families, groups, late arrivals and trips beyond the Twin Cities.
