Mariscal Sucre International Airport is Ecuador’s busiest and most advanced airport, located about 18 kilometers (11 miles) east of Quito, in the Tababela parish. Opened in 2013, this state-of-the-art facility replaced the old airport located in the city center. It serves as a major hub for both domestic and international flights, with airlines like LATAM, Avianca, and KLM operating regularly.
The airport is well equipped with modern amenities such as duty-free shops, VIP lounges, currency exchange, free Wi-Fi, and numerous dining options. Its high elevation (approximately 2,400 meters or 7,874 feet) makes for a dramatic arrival and departure, offering breathtaking views of the Andes.
