LATAM is the brand of LATAM Airlines Group, the airline group formed in 2012 when Chile's LAN and Brazil's TAM combined. It is headquartered in Santiago, Chile, and its roots go back to LAN, founded in 1929. Flights are sold under the single LATAM brand but operated by the group's airlines: LATAM Airlines Chile (LA), LATAM Airlines Brasil (JJ), LATAM Airlines Perú (LP), LATAM Airlines Colombia (4C) and LATAM Airlines Ecuador (XL), plus LATAM Paraguay. Your ticket shows which one operates each flight.
LATAM is not part of a global alliance. It left oneworld in 2020 and has a joint venture with Delta Air Lines on routes between South America and the United States and Canada. Its main hubs are Santiago, Lima, São Paulo–Guarulhos and Bogotá, with Brasília and Fortaleza as further connecting points in Brazil. The group serves about 160 destinations in 27 countries across Latin America, North America, the Caribbean, Europe, Africa and Oceania.
The group fleet of 383 aircraft combines Airbus A320-family jets for regional flights with Boeing 787, 777 and 767 aircraft for long-haul routes and cargo.
