About Mohammed V International Airport

Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) is the main airport of Casablanca, Morocco. It is the hub of Royal Air Maroc, which links Casablanca with Moroccan cities such as Agadir, Fez, Tangier and Oujda, and with Europe, West and Central Africa, the Middle East and North and South America.

Foreign airlines connect the airport with Paris, Madrid, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Dubai, Doha, Cairo and Montreal, among other cities. Air Arabia and Transavia add point-to-point flights to France, Spain, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands.

The airport has two terminals: Terminal 1 for Royal Air Maroc and its partners, and Terminal 2 for the other airlines. A new terminal is under construction and is scheduled to open in 2029. The airport is in Nouasseur, about 25 km from central Casablanca, and the drive into the center can take up to 45 minutes depending on traffic. The ONCF Al Bidaoui train runs from a station beneath Terminal 1 to Casa-Voyageurs and Casa-Port.

From the airport, travelers head into Casablanca and the Hassan II Mosque, or continue to Rabat, Marrakech, El Jadida and Fez.

Arrival tips for Mohammed V International Airport

At passport control, many nationalities can enter Morocco without a visa, while others need a visa, e-visa or electronic travel authorization arranged in advance through acces-maroc.ma; paper arrival cards were dropped in 2019.

After collecting your bags and clearing customs, use the exchange desks or ATMs in arrivals, as the Moroccan dirham is hard to obtain outside the country. Note whether you landed at Terminal 1 (Royal Air Maroc and partners) or Terminal 2 (other airlines), because that is where anyone collecting you will wait.

Grand taxis wait directly outside the arrivals building. Agree on the fare before you set off, since it can rise at night or when passengers are not traveling together. Decline offers from people who approach you inside the hall. For the train, follow the signs to the station in the Terminal 1 basement.

Morocco has used GMT (UTC+0) year-round since 20 September 2026, with no daylight saving time. The currency is the Moroccan dirham (MAD), and Casablanca has a mild Atlantic climate.

Ground transportation

The Al Bidaoui train suits most travelers heading to central Casablanca, while a taxi or private transfer works better with luggage or late at night.

  • Al Bidaoui train to Casablanca

ONCF trains leave from the station in the Terminal 1 basement and reach Casa-Voyageurs in about 30 minutes, continuing to Casa-Port. Departures run from about 06:50 to 22:50, so late-night arrivals need another option.

  • Grand taxi from Casablanca airport

Grand taxis wait directly outside the arrivals building and take up to 45 minutes to central Casablanca depending on traffic. Agree on the fare before departure, as it can rise at night.

  • Private transfer

A pre-booked driver meets you in the arrivals hall of your terminal and takes you straight to your address in Casablanca or onward to Rabat, Marrakech or El Jadida. It needs booking in advance.

  • Rideshare

Uber relaunched in Casablanca in November 2025 using licensed tourist transport operators, and Careem also runs in Morocco. Availability at the airport can vary, so check the app before relying on it.

  • Train to Rabat, Marrakech and Fez

Take the Al Bidaoui train to Casa-Voyageurs and change there for ONCF intercity trains. Connections add waiting time, especially in the evening.
