Mexico City Benito Juárez International Airport is the main airport serving Mexico's capital and the busiest in the country, with about 44.6 million passengers in 2025. It is located about 5 km east of downtown Mexico City and is operated by Grupo Aeroportuario de la Ciudad de México.
The airport is the main hub for Aeroméxico and Aeroméxico Connect, and a hub for Volaris and Viva. It has two terminals: Terminal 1 serves most domestic low-cost and foreign airlines, and Terminal 2 serves Aeroméxico, Delta and Copa. The terminals are linked by the Aerotrén for ticketed passengers and by a shuttle bus.
Felipe Ángeles International Airport (NLU) and Toluca International Airport (TLC) also serve the metropolitan area, so check which airport your flight uses.
Departing from Mexico City International Airport
Confirm your terminal before leaving for the airport, because the two terminals are on opposite sides of the airfield. Mexico City traffic can be heavy at any time of day, so allow generous time for the drive, check-in and security.
