Terminal
The single terminal handles every flight, domestic, Schengen and non-Schengen. Arrivals and check-in are on the ground floor, and the departure lounge and boarding gates are on the first floor.
Also known as: FUE Airport, El Matorral Airport, Puerto del Rosario Airport.

Fuerteventura Airport (FUE) is the airport for the island of Fuerteventura, in Spain's Canary Islands. It stands at El Matorral on the island's east coast, about 5 km (3 miles) south of the capital, Puerto del Rosario, and Aena runs it.
Most passengers arrive on holiday flights from the UK, Germany and the rest of Europe. Jet2, Ryanair, easyJet and TUI fly the most routes from British and Irish cities, Condor, Eurowings and TUI fly from Germany, and Binter Canarias and CanaryFly link the island with Gran Canaria and Tenerife. Iberia Express and Vueling connect it with Madrid, Barcelona and other Spanish cities. The airport handled about 6.9 million passengers in 2025.
All flights use one two-story terminal, with arrivals and check-in on the ground floor and the departure lounge and boarding gates on the first floor.
From the airport, Caleta de Fuste is a short drive south. Corralejo and its dunes are about 35 minutes north, and the long beaches of Costa Calma and Morro Jable on the Jandía peninsula are about an hour to an hour and a quarter south.

Flights from mainland Spain and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. If you fly in from outside the Schengen area, such as the UK or Ireland, you line up at passport control first, where non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System.
Fuerteventura has one terminal, so after baggage claim on the ground floor you walk through customs into the arrivals hall. The Canary Islands sit outside the EU VAT area, so customs channels apply even on flights from mainland Spain.
Outside the arrivals hall you find the taxi stand, the bus stop for the Tiadhe lines to Puerto del Rosario, Caleta de Fuste and the south, and the car rental parking areas. Pre-booked drivers usually meet you in the arrivals hall.
Set your watch before you land: the Canary Islands are one hour behind mainland Spain. The island uses the euro.
A taxi or pre-booked car is the simplest way to reach Corralejo or the southern resorts; the bus suits Puerto del Rosario and Caleta de Fuste.
Metered taxis wait at the stand outside arrivals. They reach Caleta de Fuste in a few minutes and Corralejo in about 35 minutes, with fares higher for the long drive south to Jandía.
Tiadhe line 3 links the airport with Puerto del Rosario, Caleta de Fuste and Las Salinas, daily from about 7:00 to around midnight. It is the most frequent airport bus, but has limited room for large luggage.
Tiadhe line 10 runs between Puerto del Rosario, the airport, Gran Tarajal, Costa Calma and Morro Jable a few times a day, with fewer services at weekends. For Corralejo, change in Puerto del Rosario to line 6.
Local and international car rental companies serve the airport, and many travelers drive the FV-1 north or the FV-2 south to their resort.
A pre-booked car meets you in the arrivals hall and drives you door to door, useful for families, groups, late arrivals and resorts far from the bus routes.

Fuerteventura Airport is at El Matorral, about 5 km (3 miles) south of Puerto del Rosario, the island's capital, so the drive takes around 10 minutes. Tiadhe bus lines 3, 10 and 16 link the airport with the town's bus station, and taxis wait outside arrivals.
Corralejo, at the north tip of the island, is about 35 minutes from the airport by car, on the FV-1 through Puerto del Rosario and across the dunes. There is no direct bus: take line 3 to Puerto del Rosario and change to line 6 for Corralejo, or use a taxi or pre-booked car.
Caleta de Fuste is the closest resort to the airport, a short drive south along the coast, usually 10 minutes or so by car. Tiadhe bus line 3 runs between the airport, Caleta de Fuste and Las Salinas daily from about 7:00 to around midnight, and taxis wait outside arrivals.
Costa Calma and Morro Jable are on the Jandía peninsula in the south, about an hour to an hour and a quarter from the airport on the FV-2. Tiadhe bus line 10 runs there a few times a day, with fewer services at weekends; a taxi, rental car or pre-booked car is quicker with luggage.
Yes. Tiadhe runs the island's buses, called guaguas. Line 3 links the airport with Puerto del Rosario, Caleta de Fuste and Las Salinas, line 10 continues south to Gran Tarajal, Costa Calma and Morro Jable, and line 16 serves Antigua and Gran Tarajal. For Corralejo you change in Puerto del Rosario.
Fuerteventura Airport has one terminal on two floors. Arrivals and check-in are on the ground floor, and the departure lounge and boarding gates are on the first floor. Every flight, domestic or international, uses the same building, so all arriving passengers exit into the same arrivals hall.
Jet2, Ryanair, easyJet and TUI fly the most routes from the UK and Ireland, while Condor, Eurowings, Discover Airlines and TUI fly from Germany. Binter Canarias and CanaryFly connect Fuerteventura with Gran Canaria and Tenerife, and Iberia Express, Vueling and Volotea link it with mainland Spain and France.
Fuerteventura is in Spain and the Schengen area, so flights from other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. Arrivals from outside it, such as the UK, go through passport control, where non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026. Check the visa rules for your nationality.
Yes. The Canary Islands are part of Spain but sit outside the EU VAT and excise area, so customs channels apply even on flights from mainland Spain. When you leave, duty-free allowances apply to tobacco, alcohol and other goods you take back to the mainland or other EU countries.
Fuerteventura follows Canary Islands time, one hour behind mainland Spain. It is on UTC+0 in winter, the same as the UK, and UTC+1 from late March to late October. Check that your phone has updated after landing, especially if you booked onward times on mainland Spanish time.
Metered taxis wait at the taxi stand outside the arrivals hall. They go door to door to Puerto del Rosario, Caleta de Fuste, Corralejo and the southern resorts. The stand can be busy when several holiday flights land together, and the long drive to Jandía costs more.
Yes. Aena runs a VIP lounge on the departures side of the terminal. Passengers with an eligible airline ticket or card enter with it, and others can buy a lounge pass on the Aena website before they travel. The lounge is airside, so you reach it after security.
Aena's P1 parking lot is opposite the terminal, a short walk from arrivals and check-in. You can book a space ahead online through Aena Parking. Car rental companies have their own areas near the terminal for picking up and returning cars.
