Perth Airport (PER) serves Perth, the capital of Western Australia, Australia. It handled about 18 million passengers in 2025, split roughly evenly between regional, interstate and international travelers. Qantas, Virgin Australia and Jetstar link Perth with Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and many regional and mining towns across the state, while airlines such as Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Cathay Pacific, Air New Zealand and Batik Air connect it with Asia, the Gulf, Africa and New Zealand. Qantas also flies non-stop to Europe, including London and Rome.
The airport has four terminals in two precincts on opposite sides of the airfield: T1 and T2 together, and T3 and T4 together, about a 15-minute drive apart. It sits about 15 km east of the Perth city center, roughly 20 minutes by car, and the Airport Line train runs from the airport to Perth Station.
From the airport, most travelers head to the Perth CBD, Fremantle, Rottnest Island, the Swan Valley and Margaret River.

International flights arrive at T1 or, for Qantas international services, at T3. You clear immigration first, using SmartGates if your passport is eligible. Before flying, most visitors need a visa, an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) or an eVisitor, and on arrival you hand in an Incoming Passenger Card; a digital Australia Travel Declaration is offered only on selected flights. Australia's biosecurity rules are strict, so declare all food, plant and animal products when you collect your bags and pass through customs.
Outside, taxis wait at ranks in front of each terminal, and rideshare pick-up zones are beside the arrivals halls. Pre-booked drivers usually meet you in the arrivals hall. Check which precinct you land in, because T1/T2 and T3/T4 are a 15-minute drive apart. From T1/T2, the Skybridge leads to Airport Central station for trains to the city.
Perth keeps Australian Western Standard Time (UTC+8) with no daylight saving and uses the Australian dollar. Summers are hot and dry, and winters are mild and wet.
The Airport Line train suits most travelers heading to central Perth from T1/T2, while a taxi or private transfer is simpler from T3/T4 or with heavy luggage.
Airport Central station is linked to T1/T2 by a 280 m Skybridge with travellators, and trains reach Perth Station in about 18 minutes, every 12 minutes at peak times and every 15 minutes off-peak. Trains run from about 5 am to 12:30 am, so very late arrivals need another option.
Route 292 runs a loop between T3/T4 and Redcliffe station on the Airport Line, with luggage space on board; from Redcliffe, trains reach Perth Station in about 15 minutes. The change adds time compared with a direct ride.
Taxi ranks are in front of every terminal and operate around the clock. The ride takes about 20 minutes to the city center and about 27 minutes to Fremantle, traffic permitting.
Rideshare pick-up zones are a short walk from each terminal's arrivals area. Wait until you have collected your bags before requesting a car.
A pre-booked driver meets you in the arrivals hall and drives you straight to your accommodation, which helps with groups, late arrivals and trips beyond the city. It has to be arranged in advance.
Take the Airport Line to Perth Station and change to the Fremantle Line; the whole trip takes about an hour.

Qantas and Qantas codeshare passengers can use a complimentary shuttle between T3/T4 and T1/T2 when connecting.
