Terminal 1
The departures terminal, with check-in, a first-floor security area and gates for every airline. It was enlarged under the Romeo project, completed in February 2026, to 19 gates.
Also known as: Verona Airport, VRN Airport, Villafranca Airport, Valerio Catullo Airport, Catullo Airport.
VRN · LIPX · Verona
Verona Villafranca Airport (VRN), named after the Roman poet Valerio Catullo, is the airport for Verona, in the Veneto region of northern Italy, and for the eastern and southern shores of Lake Garda. It stands at Caselle di Sommacampagna, about 10 km (6 miles) southwest of Verona city center, beside the junction of the A4 Milan–Venice and A22 Brenner highways.
Most flights link Verona with other Italian cities and with Europe. Ryanair and Volotea fly the most routes, Air Dolomiti connects to the Lufthansa hubs in Munich and Frankfurt, and British Airways, easyJet, Jet2.com and TUI bring many travelers from the UK. Neos adds seasonal holiday flights to the Mediterranean, Egypt and the Caribbean. The airport handled about 4 million passengers in 2025.
Departures and arrivals use two adjoining buildings: an enlarged departures terminal, rebuilt under the Romeo project completed in 2026, and the arrivals terminal next to it.
From the airport, most travelers head into Verona's historic center around the Arena and Piazza Bra, or west to the Lake Garda towns of Peschiera del Garda, Lazise, Bardolino and Sirmione. The drive into Verona usually takes 15 to 20 minutes.

Flights from Italy and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. If you fly in from outside the Schengen area, such as the UK, Ireland or Egypt, you go through passport control first, where non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System.
All arriving passengers come into Terminal 2, the arrivals building, so there is no terminal to choose. After baggage claim you walk through customs into the arrivals hall, where Lost and Found and the meeting area are.
Outside Terminal 2 you find the taxi stand, the stop for the ATV airport bus to Verona Porta Nuova station, and, a short walk away, the car rental offices. There is no railway station at the airport, so travelers going on by train take the bus or a taxi to Porta Nuova. In summer, seasonal ATV buses also run to towns on Lake Garda. Pre-booked drivers usually meet you in the arrivals hall.
Italy is on Central European Time and uses the euro.
The airport bus is the cheapest way into Verona; a taxi or pre-booked car is easier with luggage, at night or for Lake Garda.
ATV line 199 runs nonstop from outside Terminal 2 to Verona Porta Nuova railway station in about 15 minutes, every 20 minutes at busy times and less often in the evening. From the station, city buses and trains continue onward.
Taxis wait at the stand outside Terminal 2 and reach central Verona in about 15 minutes. They go door to door, but lines can form when several flights land together.
From June to September, ATV buses link the airport with Lake Garda towns such as Peschiera del Garda, Lazise, Bardolino and Garda. They run about hourly and stop often, so the ride is slow with luggage.
A pre-booked car meets you in the arrivals hall and drives straight to your hotel in Verona or on Lake Garda, useful for families, groups and late arrivals.
Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Sixt and other companies have offices a short walk from Terminal 2. Note that Verona's historic center is a limited traffic zone closed to most private cars.

Verona Villafranca Airport is about 10 km (6 miles) southwest of Verona city center, at Caselle di Sommacampagna. A taxi or car takes about 15 to 20 minutes to the historic center around the Arena, and the ATV airport bus reaches Verona Porta Nuova railway station in about 15 minutes, from where city buses continue into the old town.
Yes. Verona Villafranca Airport, code VRN, is also called Villafranca Airport, after the nearby town of Villafranca di Verona, and Valerio Catullo Airport, after the Roman poet born in Verona. It is the only commercial airport serving Verona, so any flight to Verona lands here.
Verona is the closest major airport to the southern and eastern shores of Lake Garda. Towns such as Peschiera del Garda, Lazise, Bardolino and Sirmione are usually 25 to 40 minutes away by car. The northern end of the lake, around Riva del Garda and Malcesine, is a longer drive along the shore or the A22 highway.
The quickest way is by taxi or pre-booked car, which drives door to door to your hotel on the lake. From June to September, seasonal ATV buses also run from the airport to towns such as Peschiera del Garda, Lazise, Bardolino and Garda, about hourly. Outside summer, travelers usually take the airport bus to Porta Nuova and a train or bus from there.
Yes. ATV line 199 runs nonstop between the airport and Verona Porta Nuova railway station in about 15 minutes. Buses leave from outside Terminal 2 about every 20 minutes at busy times and less often in the evening, from early morning until late evening. Tickets can be bought online, from machines or with a card on board.
No. Verona Villafranca Airport has no railway station of its own. Travelers going on by train take the ATV airport bus or a taxi to Verona Porta Nuova, about 15 minutes away, where trains leave for Venice, Milan, Bologna and the Brenner line north to Austria and Germany.
Verona airport has two adjoining buildings. Terminal 1 handles departures, with check-in, security and the gates, and was enlarged under the Romeo project completed in February 2026. Terminal 2 handles all arrivals, with baggage claim, the arrivals hall, the taxi stand and the bus stop.
Ryanair and Volotea fly the most routes from Verona, across Italy and Europe. Air Dolomiti links the city with Munich and Frankfurt, British Airways and easyJet fly to London Gatwick, and Jet2.com and TUI add many UK routes, mostly in summer. Neos flies holiday routes, and Wizz Air, Icelandair, Aer Lingus and other airlines add more.
Taxis wait at the stand outside the Terminal 2 arrivals exit. Several Verona taxi companies serve the airport, including Radiotaxi Catullo, and the ride to the historic center takes about 15 minutes. A taxi goes door to door, which is easiest with luggage or if your hotel is inside the old town's limited traffic zone.
Italy is in the Schengen area, so flights from other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. Arrivals from outside it, such as the UK, Ireland or Egypt, go through passport control, where non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026. Check the visa rules for your nationality before you fly.
Yes. The Catullo Lounge is airside in the departures terminal, past security, and is open daily from 6:00 to 21:00. Eligible airline passengers, frequent flyers and holders of lounge memberships such as Priority Pass may enter, and other passengers can buy an entry ticket. Entry is allowed up to three hours before departure.
The airport runs several official parking lots: short-stay areas at arrivals and departures, open-air P1, P3 and P4 within a few minutes' walk, covered P2 and P4 Bis, and a Low Cost parking lot slightly farther away. Spaces can be booked online in advance, and accessible spaces are in the covered parking garage opposite the terminal.
Yes. Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Sixt and several other companies have offices a short walk from the Terminal 2 arrivals exit. A car is useful for touring Lake Garda and the Valpolicella wine area, but Verona's historic center is a limited traffic zone (ZTL) closed to private cars without a permit, so check parking with your hotel.
